i have a back seat delete box. custom made of fiberglass for the back and bottom to fit the dips and groves of the floor perfectly so no movement but not bolted down and wood for the front top and side parts of the boxes for a straight look of course. box itself is about 50-60 lbs max. so if your lookin for weight reduction this isnt the way to go. if the back seat is only 40 lbs the box will match and or exceed that by a couple of lbs but thats not including the subs or amps if your mounting them they way i did. it is a good way of saying no when people ask for a ride "oh sorry its only a 2 seater" haha but if you have alot of power you can spare some lbs. the box came out to about 3 ft of cubic air space. it fits 2 12s. and i noticed you said you wanted to stay under $1000. this box was about $400 in materials. the top is slanted downwards and the front is also slanted downwards just for the subs to make your ears bleed. i think that pretty much covers your answer for a back seat delete box. and now your wondering. PICS right. haha well here are some of just the front of the box. if your need to see the back ill give you my account number so you can wire me about 5 bucks for the troubles of pulling the box out. lol

make a panel that sits on top of the driveshaft hump completely horizontal. use blocks on the driveshaft hump and seat botoms brackets then bolt it all together. its kinda a goody thing to make, but it can be done without too much trouble. you can put any type of box or w/e on top of it and bolt it done. its easier to work with a flat area which is why i did it.

Hi
Sorry for the bad pic. But it was taken at a show. This is my car, and another way to make an back seat installation. When I get the car completely finished, I will try to upload some pic. so you can se the whole installation.
