So im coming home on my lunch break...and a 5.0 is about to pull right out in front of me when he sees how fast im going and decides to stay put.....so i pass said 5.0 and im on my way...

As i pass him i see he has a UNPAINTED cowl hood....hmmm i think the game is on....

Im nearing my house....but i see him weaving thru traffic in my rear view.....he definitly wants a run...

We are both in the right lane....him behind me.....theres a light coming up...its red....i figure whats the harm....i move over to the left lane to let him get the right....might as well make it fair.... but the light turns before either of us are ready...

Its green....im watching him in my mirror waiting in 1st for him to hit it....he does, (i can hear it) and im ahead, but waiting, as he hits it i hit first....

Slight bend in the road and i nail first but the tires blow off, no traction, he pulls even....i hit second and nail traction, i gain about a quarter panel, i shift to 3rd and he is at the top of his gear pulling me (im at the bottom of 3rd), its neck and neck...

The road up ahead mergers 2 lanes to one, i know this, i assume he doesnt...

at this point i SLAM the brakes, im not willing to risk my car to prove im faster, he pulls ahead and as the 2 lanes become one he swerves into ONCOMING traffic (i guess out of shock) and looses the rear a bit, keeps it under controll, but is obviously unnerved......he gets his **** under control...

Im hoping he will go up to the interstate with me and get a real run...but alas it wasnt ment to be, he turned off into a neighborhood, and i was left alone...

So....long story short.....built 5.0, in the austin area....if you want a REAL run, let me know, im waiting....anytime you want to do a REAL run...where i cant hit more than 1st - 2nd... im right off duval....and these days i cant get a race to save my life....i would LOVE some compition...

I remember seeing a red 5.0 with an unpainted cowl when I was up there last.

 

Sound like an average decent running H/C/I car. I don't see you having a problem with him if you can drive good. Your ET and MPH are kinda weak aren't they though?

 

If it was a circa 87-90 model red with black rims it may have been my buddy Rafael. He's got a N/A built 306, about 300whp. In that car (probably around 3200lbs.) it's pretty quick.

I'd like a good run with an LS1 f-body myself. Seems I always run into those 2 into 1 lanes that are so prevalent here in the Austin area. And the cops are so bad, whenever they even hear a high-perf engine they come running.. PM me if you know of a good area to run on the street around here.
