well i just got my 97 awd talon back, the guy who bought it from me couldn't finish paying me for it and he blew the head gasket running to much boost. but i can do a head gasket in my sleep, and throw it back out for sale. but its just so tempting to mod. its beautiful, leather seats, sunroof, 5-speed. i really love the car but i already have the 02 z28, 86 trans am, 08 TBSS, 04 4.2 TB, 98 venture. my house looks like a used car lot.
GTS has a revised intake and slightly different tuning, rest of the motor is identical. Sad thing is that it is a 6G72 thats been neutered. Anyways, you raced a high 15s car, you better beat the damn thing. Good kill, and good luck finding better targets up there .

Nope. The 3.8L V6 in them is a tad underrated. If i remember correctly. Road and track pulled a 14.2@101 with a GT V6 AUTO

I have a friend here who had an 07 gt v6 with a 6-speed and he had intake and exhaust and he raced another friend of mine with an ls1 goat a4 with intake and exhaust, and it was about a car and a half in favor of the goat. They were right next to each other until close to the end though.
Funny. he was on street tires. That eclipse was quick though, had bolt-ons and would get up and move pretty good. He outran a grand prix gxp and a modded gtp with it. Now however, he has a 00 ss. Not much comparison now, lol.

I wouldn't underestimate those new Eclipse V6s...they might not pose a real threat to an LS1 F-body (except maybe an A4 vert with 2.73s in some cases), but that race with the Goat sounds about right.

I agree completely. It had the 3.8 v6 with a cai, bigger tb, and exhaust, and it would hang with an ls1. Even if it is the one of the slower lsx equipped cars, that is still pretty damn good. The eclipse did have this thing of liking to torque steer to the right on launching. It was actually kind of amazing when he got on, cuz that thing felt like it was pullin pretty damn hard. I guess every car feels different though. I liked it and wouldn't underestimate one.

I've driven a few and it pulls VERY well above 4000rpm
