Talking half a car behind

coming home just now some guy in a porsche cayman started the rev his motor looking over @ my stock 98' T/A that I just waxed. So I wanted to see what my car would do against a baby porsche. when the light turned green we took off and I gave it 3/4 throttle so I would not spin so bad.He jump bout 3/4 car til' bout 35-40 then I reeled him in pretty quick to about 1/2 a car. He then shutdown. He gave me thumbs up and I smiled then turned. Very suprised the my car keeped up with that thing. My LT1 would have lossed when stock.

Cubes would still have had the advantage at triple digits. Was it a cayman S?
Probably kind of hard to tell. They have painted brake calipers and a slightly different exhaust outlet .. otherwise identical

It had gold colored brake calipers, saw them when we were next to each other. didn't see if it was a cayman s. If it was could I have kept up anyway? (for future reference)

I think you would have a little trouble with an S. They have red brake calipers

The non S is 50hp down.

Hard to say. But I think a 6speed version would pull a little on you if your a stock a4.
When speeds got to where you went into 4th the cayman would probably begin to put a little distance. They pull 4th to 125 and 5th to 145 according to CD.

Looks like they make 270 to the ground.
http://www.dragtimes.com/Porsche--Ca...no-Sheets.html

But torque is a little low. Figure they are at least 10 percent lighter than an fbody. I bet they would run real good from a dig but in the 100 range you would have a little advantage.. for a while...
