I got the ticket like 10 years ago.. I had my car impounded and immediately got two points against my driving record.. I later had to go in front of a judge in court and also got a $1300 fine and 3 years probation.. I did not lose my license....It was not fun..

so i guess im just going to go into court and tell the judge, what i was doing, just trying to show my friend my new car, and hopefully he will see my clean driving record and just drop the wreckless ticket and give me the speeding ticket because you can lose your license for up to a year for wreckless

seriously thou thanks Mike that was very informative and wasnt exactly what i wanted to hear, but more what i needed to hear unfortunately!

well cant change it now man so fugg it!
No problem man. YOu can always turn bad news into good news. Remember, with that information you can ask the officer the right questions if you get a chance to address him. Such as: what things did you bare whitness to that would indicate wreckless driving? Ask him what angle he was at, if he there could have been any abstructions. IDK about AZ, but in CA, they HAVE to show you the radar gun if you say you want to see it. If they offer and you say yes, you have to. You can ask what MPH did they radar gun show you were going. You could ask him why wasn't the radar gun offered for visual inspection of hte suspect (you). He mentioned the 'loudness' of the exhaust. You could play that up. after you're done Q'ing the officer, state your case with the judge that you have a very clean driving record and that this is your first time going to court. And offer the possibilty that the officer heard your car and presumed you were driving wrecklessly. You could (pending your employment) state that you are required to have a good driving record and with the way things are now, you wouldn't dare risk losing your employment. i wouldn't do that unless driving is really related to your job though.

Basically, you have options, just play it smart. OH, and what ever you do, DO NOT plea that you did nothing. (you wouldn't be there if you didn't and the judge knows that) Admit that to the best of your knowledge you did exhibit excess of speed, but for a very brief moment.

Very nice Pony. Good to have a LEO on the site lol. You should make us some little note cards to keep in our cars, so if we get pulled over, we know what to say/ask ect. Like ask for the calibration date of the radar gun.

damn Mike sounds like you know this ****, been thru the process before

thanks thou man, alot of that helps, and i agree i am not gunna go in their with the i am 100% innocent attitude, i know i was speeding and will def not deny that. i also might have my buddy who i passed come in as a witness to say that he agree's that i was momentarily speeding, but not driving wrecklessly. and i was also thinking, the cop said he 'paced' me doing 80, which i think is total bs. i wonder if that will work to my favor in court

just hoping i get a nice judge who isnt in a hardass mood

Not an LEO. I've known a few throughout the years, and I've gotten my fair share of 'incorrect driving' citations along with court appearance for other reasons. I merely do my homework and pay attention. REsearch...it's what I enjoy doing. I always pass along what I've learned. Isn't that part of humanity, to help each other out?

Whitnesses are tricky. Even tell the truth he could word himself wrong that might throw up a flag to the judge. If you do that, make sure he keeps his replies short and to the point. Also, make sure he ONLY speaks when spoken too.

I would ask the LEO and your whitness the approximate length that this situation occured. The LEO was at a stop no? He would have had to come from a park (or even low speed) catch up to you, and 'pace' you at a reasonable amount of time for that to be a fair argument. Also, both of your car and his bike's spedometers would have to be accurately calibrated for it to be a viable argument on his side. A fair amount of LEO's dont' like 'pacing' as a point of reference for speeders. Too many variables. They'll still do it though.

good point my buddy isnt the brightest, but im sure if my court appointed attorney said he thought it was a good idea i totally would have him give his version. and totally about the edicate in the court man. i always act 150% proper when in their, dressed in nice clothes, yes your honor no your honor deal.

he was actually on the highway in the HOV lane, about 5 lanes away from me plus the median area between the access road and freeway.

ohh i know bro no worries haha, me and my friends always say that. we will make fun of each other and then one of us will throw the straight face like the you took it too far face and say dude i hate you. and see if you can fool them. im all about jokes man and im not really trippin about the ticket, trippin wont change that it already happened and im gunna have to deal with whatever the consequences are. my fault in the end so whatever.

but you just wait and see how that race ends up buddy

since your car will most likely be done before the BBQ ever happens and mine is already crankin we should meet at like Firebird, or one of the other tracks, speedworld, or the track near you, doesnt matter to me. but that'd be fun and we could get some video at the track

NOw THAT should play in your favor. NO radar gun, 5 lanes away across obstructions, no nothign. Sounds like he heard your exhaust and assumed the rest.

Indeed. Sounds good for you. And also, good job in admitting (to us) you were at fault. I'm tired of people always blaming the cops. You knew you were in the wrong, and know the consequences. Just the charges itself are now in the question.

Get a doctors note, and tell the judge you were off your meds on that day and can't be held responsible...

my wife got a ticket thrown out a few months ago, when i cop paced her, the judges over here don't go for pacing, like pony said a speedometer has to be calibrated and even then i still don't think its as accurate as a radar gun. we got a ton of info off the net and just read though it. had to though cuz she gets tickets all the time driving the stuff i buy and mod up. i have no idea how i never get pulled over, or when i do i get off. i slide sideways smoke rolling off my tires thru an intersection a few weeks ago in front of a cop, he pulled me over let me off with a warning AND told me my car sounded badass. WTF i told him he was the coolest police officer i ever met and thanked him.

when i first got my TBSS i was playing around at a light turned the traction control off and launched it left 2 huge long black marks on the road then made a u-turn at the next light, cop pulled me over and asked if i knew why he pulled me over, i said "did i make an illeagal u-turn ?" he said nope but you did leave about 50 feet of black mark on the road when you left that light. do you realize i could give you a wreckless driving for that? i was like yes sir, then he said slow it down haws. and let me go. i must have a REALLY innocent looking face or something

Due to an increase of BS in other sections lately, understandable, bump this thread with your mindless dribble so that others will find it and use this instead of the rest of the forum.

We could keep the BS thread open and help steer the crazy responses and members over here. Since this is also Sarge's area too, it's also up to him, but I'm sure he will agree.

You guys will need to help promote this in other areas where guys are acting up.

I am not sure if they will tolerate threads like this on other planets so your BS may be limited to here.
