I've been itching to race a stock or somewhat stock LS1 (from a dig) since I bought my car. The problem is, there are hardly any stock ones left around here. So when I finally came across a 99 SS m6 with only a cat-back and lid, I knew it might be my only chance lol.

So we went down to the local marked out Quarter mile and he told me to honk it off. Both cars spun a bit and I got out about a car and a half. By the time I hit 70, he had slowly pulled back about 3/4 of a car but as soon as I hit about 75, he was coming by me hard. When we crossed the mark, he was 1 car ahead of me give or take a couple inches.

I thought it was a great race, and the kid was real cool too. My car actually did much better than I expected it too. I thought he would have me by at least another car or two. Overall, it was a good day

 

Nice runs, sounds like you have a strong LT1. I can't wait to get back to my home state next year, hows the f-body scene out there?
