no not bad times. basicly i decided that i want to start racing more often . problem is i dont wanna hack up a good car to do it. id like to keep it but i wont be able to put my best foot forward with the racing program if i keep it. the plan as of now is to run nmca next year with a mod motor fox body. i can always get another cobra when the build is complete and have some play money kickin around.

I've really got the itch for another toy or project.
It's really killing me, but my workload this semester is going to occupy almost all of my time.
Looks like I'll be waiting a while. Maybe next spring.

that sucks man, could always get something cheap and easy, like a fox, and slowly mod it just for fun and to scratch the itch. Were addicts, we need to feed our addiction lol

just drive it and piddle with it till you can get a 2013 cobra or something fast like a Camaro

I'd get a fox if I could. Taking care of 4 kids most of the year, paying support, and working full time with a mortgage, doesn't leave much room for a 'cheap quick beater'. I look at craigslist and other areas all the time. I've seen 89-95 (5.0 pushrods) for under $3500..can't do it. I've seen 96-98 cobras for $6000.

I am surprised that I am still married. Atleast my credit score shot up 100 points with all the paid off loans.
I am in the same boat. I was wondering if I was the only one. I have owned 14 Mustangs, 2 Cobras, a Lightning, 2 Trans Am's, a Z/28, and a Formula. I built them all except for the Formula. None were left stock. They ranged from bolt ons to fully built, strokers, nitrous, supercharged, etc. It seems like I am never satisfied with any of them. I bought a fully built, immaculate 693rwhp 98 Formula that I did not drive for about 6 months after I got it because the injectors were too small and the tune was off. I installed bigger injectors and had it tuned. It was awesome. I sold it 3 weeks later. I regret it every day. I look back and I still don't know why I did it.

I feel your pain brother. As we speak I am buying a 2008 LS3 C6 1LT M6 with mods already @ 500rwhp. God I hope I hang onto this one for a while. I'll post up some pics when I get it.

It is a blast to mod them but it seems very unfufilling when they are "complete". It seems a car should be "in progress" for eternity I guess. Oh well. That Formula sounds like an F-in beast dude. Any pics?

I think a lot of us enjoy the build more than the finished product. I personnally would much rather have the finished product to drive but would never by something already built, just because when it breaks i can fix it. and im also sooo particular about how its built. and im broke and cant pay people to do it for me.

I dont really like to work on the car but i like to be proud of myself afterwards, so really i guess the juice is worth the squeeze.

congrats on the new vette jason, what its 0 to 60 time? why does it shake? LOL

Jay/Blown 383 -

Have you two ever considered hanging onto what you have and buying a project car? Maybe just buy, fix up and sell projects. You could make a little cash, learn about alot of different cars (new and old), and constantly be tinkering. Just a thought.

BTW - WTF has Scott been? He must've gotten too confuzed to log in.

Shakers in New Edge's were only available on the Mach 1s or aftermarket through CDC (Classic Design Concepts). Saleen never installed a Shaker vehicle, nor made a GT350.

Do you have a link that backs up Saleen having a "GT350" package? I can't imagine that even being a possiblity because Saleens packages are "S" (S281, S281SC, S281E) and the GT350 was a copywrite of Shelby which is why Ford had to pay $$$ back in 1984.5 when they released the GT350 foxbody after CS sued them.
I got 1 for you 2. A few weeks back I raced a Shelby Cobra but it didnt have the GT500 decals.Instead it had some kind of abreveations on the back??? I couldnt get him to line up with me for a good run but he wanted to play "push the Cobra all out and see if the other car can keep up with me game". Every time I would try to get next to him and see if he wanted to honk it off he would just take off then slow down and wait for me.. I would then pull up within 1 or 1.5 cars and he would just take off again.. THe last few times he did it I just nailed it! To my surprise I would stop his pull and actually start to do a slow walk past him? The few things I know is that it was not a GT500 since I've also raced one of those and got walked very easily, I also know it was faster then a newer (not edge) GT since I have also raced one of those and it wasnt a challenge. WTF car was this? Have you ever heard of any other Shelby Cobras (and yes it said Shelby Cobra on it) that sound like this one?

I prefer N/A really though not when it's a Cobra. If I can get 550-570rwhp with the next LS3 C6 (max build) and then throw a little 100-125 shot on it, it will be good enough.

What's up with your ride?

They made 07 SHelby GT-H's and Shelby GT's. Basically SHelby revised GT's (~315Hp).

Here's a white one with Grey stripes. Those are the only legit Shelby's aside from the Gt500 series.

Sarge and I swap txts a few times a week. He can be found on SVTp.

I do 'some' mod work. It depends on what it is because of lack of tools. I do all the maintenance.

Plenty of things to do N/A as builds. Since you guys like tinkering so much and 'virtually' always have ot be working on it, doing projects and reselling them could be the 'all around' ticket.

My ride?...what ride?

In short, my Ex-wife doesn't pay for **** for the kids (welfare loser) so I take care of all their school, medical, b-day parties, etcetera all myself. As a result, no way to save up. So....I'm looking at not getting back 'into the game' for quite some time. SUCKS *** royally too, because I just saw a 93 fox for 1200 obo. It's a salvage title and need motor work from a blown head gasket (I'd wanna stroker anyhow). Other than that it looks clean as ****. I can't even get that to sit in my garage for the time being.

i dunno jay that n/a sh*t is weak sauce. big cam/cams poor drivability. i prefer boost for everything from a street car to a race car. street car wise its easier to deal with and makes more power with driveability. race car wise boost just flat out makes more power.

That's a hell of a deal. I love Fox's still. Dude, you realize that would be an easy fix. Hell you can grab a built shortblock cheap. A little N20 and that will be a good 11 sec car unless you run a stroker, even better.

Buy it man! Work out a few payments if anything. You have a PM.

If I was to get an older GT that for sure is the year that I would go with too... I love the way they looked
