couple kills from last night... real quick background story. ive had some problems with bad X pipes so my car has been sitting undriven in the garage lately due to open headers (again). so last night i was taking my car to my friends house for his dad to weld it all up, but his dad is high up in a construction company and got called in so when i got there, couldnt get it all welded up so had to drive home open headers...god i hate it.
races:
just criusing down the highway at 55 when i see some halo's with angel eyes (at night) coming all fast and furious style through traffic because i guess he saw me at a light or something. i noticed it was a beemer when he was ripping by everyone else and finally got to the open road with me, he had to be going 80ish and when he got about 1 car back from me i nailed it since i knew he was going to do a fly by. i downshift into 2nd but during that quick silence i heard his exhaust (pretty loud) so i knew he was going to try and get by me. nail it, stop his pull by the time he gets to dead even with me and start putting cars on him, which he promptly quits. so i slow back down to see if he wants another race and i see its an M3, the one before the E46. well we come to a light after about 1 mile of me trying to get him to race and him ignoring me and when we stop i yell over "nice car whats it have done?" ***** just rolls up his window and tears out of the next light but i just let him go. he dove off the highway about 1/2 mile down from that light.
no more than 5 minutes later im back at another light on the highway and almost home when a 05+ stang comes revving hard at me from one car back. [i wanna say he had full exhaust judging by how loud it was] light goes green, the car in front of him pulls ahead of me so he pulls up next to me and just nails it. well i quickly downshift but into third when i should have been in second so he got a few on me (3 or 4) before he stopped for traffic. i pull next to him again and see hes showing off for his wife and young kid in the back. i downshift to 2nd and wait for him to jump. i hear him downshift and see the front of his car lift, so i nail it and put about 3 or 4 on him by 100 (i think the extra weight hurt him). he then goes from the far left lane and dives to the far right exit lane just to get off
full night with my annoyingly loud car...never again will i race like this.oh and a non turbo supra tried to race me but i declined...if there is one lesson from this, i will make sure i have the welder coem to me so i never have to drive open headers again. should be welded up tonight, so i can have some damn torque back. this thing is a torqueless bitch and doesnt wanna spin the tires as easy as it used to...

the only time it sounds good its like 4k rpms and up at WOT. the rest of the time it just shakes **** and sounds like ***. its just overpowering noise, not an exhaust sound or note.
very much agreed. i dont really like racing with someone else in the car all that much, but if it was my child, id be driving like a freaking grandma.

I love stories like this..almost better than video because you can envision what is happening with whatever your mind makes up.

well he did a halfassed flyby on me, showing he wanted to play, but we caught a red light right after, asked him his mods, he said he was an intake/exhaust non turbo. told him nice car and i just went on my way.
