'06 GT vs. '00 SS So my friend has an '06 GT 5 speed and I have a 2000 SS auto. I have the slp lid and just a flowmaster catback. He took his car all the way to Indiana to have Brenspeed put 4.10s in, CAI, Ford Racing Cam, and tune, along with full exhaust, x-pipe. The day he brought it back he met up with me to check it out. When we left that gas station parking lot, he pulled up beside me and downshifted. I knew he was going to punch it. We were doing about 50mph. As soon as he got on it, I punched it too. Instant car length on him and I crept away all the way to about 120. Lol. With the 4k+ he put into that car I expected more...sad really. He's happy with it though, as I didn't beat him as bad as our last race, so that's all that matters I guess.

Hmmm....somebody wasn't used to his new mods. From what I've heard Brenspeed is very familiar with, and good with the S197s. That car should have been putting down near the mid 300s with the FR cams......assuming brensped degreed them correctly which I'm sure they did.
Either way, he instigated it and lost so nice kill.

Hmmm....somebody wasn't used to his new mods. From what I've heard Brenspeed is very familiar with, and good with the S197s. That car should have been putting down near the mid 300s with the FR cams......assuming brensped degreed them correctly which I'm sure they did.

First fiv was untuned, the second was tuned but 290rwhp? Even with an MJ that's LOW. I'm willing to bet his cams weren't degree'd properly, has a box tune, and/or his tuner sucks.
I wouldnt' be bragging about that one much. That's not only not the norm, it's virtually unhear of.
But...the S197 owner shouldn't ahve raced. A kill's a kill I guess.

I myself have "killed" cars I shouldn't have been able to because the driver stunk. The other night on "past times" someone with a stock 08 GT ran 14.8. Another ran 14.4, and then someone ran a 14.1. Someone with a 400hp LT1 ran 15s on it as well..
So yeah.. anything is possible with the "right" (read wrong) driver.
I am guessing the new 2010 V6 Camaro should be able to take me (I was told in here it could anyhow). yet I've beaten the 3 I've raced with my stock GT.

Ya, I was expecting him to pull on me. He took me for a ride in it and it feels faster. I know they raised his rev limiter 500rpms too. He heard about Brenspeed being the "best" and is why he drove all the way to Indiana. I'll give him another run if he wants before my car goes under the knife, which is really soon hopefully. Tying up a few loose ends.
