Weekend fun
...but don't say that sorta stuff around Ju1ce...your first time to the track with a setup, there is no excuse for not running the best time that your car is capable of...every time. No ifs, ands, or buts.
In all seriousness, though, Stopsign said it best. Worked LS in a Chevelle =
750# front springs, afco circle track shocks, f41 SS sway bar up front
230# rear springs, KYB shocks, f41 SS sway bar, and traction bars out back
She stays flat as hell in corners, but doesn't weight transfer but a little and rebounds quickly. This is what was preventing a full blown "stick it and go" off idle launch...it would hook for a split second then unload the suspension and light 'em up hard.
I just like the cocky imports who get butthurt when I beat them straightline and expect to ditch me in a curve...then get really pissed when I hang or pull away through a turn.
I am in love with your Chevelle!
Good kills!
The trans itself didn't fail, the computer was protecting it and people couldn't override it.
I was out trapped by a bone stock down to the paper filter 2011 GT.
If it can't be explained by kissing the limit on the 2-3 shift or me finding something holding back the top end, a cam swap will be coming.
I was shooting for 115 traps with my combo.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Depending on finances and if I can get one, I would really like to find a shortblock. New rings/bearings/etc, new cam, new springs on the ls6 heads (ported and milled) and then just swap in the new engine.
Found my build sheet on top of the fuel tank during the ls1 swap, was originally a 2barrel 350/th350/ 2.56 open 10 bolt car.
My uncle can understand why I don't sell it and get a race car or at least dump in a big block and a th400.
I go insane if I go more than a week without driving it. Its comfortable, its reliable, it gets ~20mpg highway, has a bitchin' stereo/sub, heater (removed a/c), and doesn't drag mirrors on curves.
I'll never have a collectible car. Too much money for what is essentially artwork. Just look at it?
I build cars to enjoy them, and you can't do that without some hard driving.

So I always took it for what it was worth.
It was when my aunt got her SRT8 Challenger 6 speed and I heard him say a couple times how quick it was I got annoyed. Then he picked up a bone stock 99 Corvette z51 6 speed.
He asked me half joking/ half serious if I would trade my car for it. I told him no and he said I was full of ****.
We start talking a c6 with color and options to my liking and that might change...and I would love to buy the c5 from him, but I would never sell/trade my car to do it.

I don't tell people how they should do their **** unless they ask for my advice though.
