LT1 Kill Last Saturday I'm headed up to my usual location for a Saturday night, the ricer hangout and then to FuelSlut (domestic car club from Orlando, FL). On the way I come to a stop and I'm the first one at the red light and look around to see any possibilities...nothing. Then an LT1 turns in front of me on to the road I am on. I'm still waiting for the light to turn green as he pulls away in front of me. I recognize the car instantly, I went to high school w/ the kid. M6 w/ rims and exhaust, but I know for certain he's not stock because he's had it for three years and loves to race (most likely NOS). By this point I'm DYING for the light to turn green so I can catch him. Light turns green and I take off searching for this black Camaro LT1. There's a lot of traffic so I'm weaving in and out trying to find him. Another red light about a mile up ahead and he's the first car. Because of the traffic, I'm a car behind him in the lane to his right. Light turns green and he leaves pretty calmly, I swerve into his lane and get behind him then pull up next to him. By now we've left the traffic and there's about a 1/2 mile of straight and lonely road up ahead with no cars. I give him a look, then w/o downshifting I punch it. I have no idea how fast we're going b/c it's almost instinctual to only look at the tach: I'm in fourth at about 3500 when I gun it. I immediately put a car on him, but he must have downshifted b/c he jumped on me for a half a second. I'm pondering whether or not to downshift, and I don't. I just keep it gunned and he never catches up. I end up putting three cars on him midway through fifth when we run into traffic and jam on the brakes. First kill on the street (the others have been on the highway, oddly enough against an LT1 also). The moral of the story is that I raped him without even downshifting. Sweet...
