Race question?

Race question? My friend with a 99 corvette 4-speed auto wants to race my 2001 ws6 m6. What will the outcome be. I'm pretty sure i can get him from a 30 punch but i dont know about from a stop. Both are stock. Thanks

You might take him stock for stock, he's lighter but your probably putting more power to the ground than he is. 'Vettes lose a lot through the drivetrain thanks to the rear mounted tranny, especially autos. Go from a roll and you should win.

Hmmmm...I ran a C5 M6 Vette from a dig 1st through 3rd and a stab at 4th gear and inched about 2 foot through it all. I ran a 00 A4 Vette from a dig and MURDERED him. He asked me what kind of motor I had. I smiled and said, same as you! We even ran twice with the same result. I didn't have the where-withal to ask him if he had his TCS on but it wouldn't have helped after the dig where I continued to WHACK him good. I'll have to assume it was a 2.73 geared one.
2 days ago I beat a poorly driven Z06 from a dig. Ran even the first time and pulled him momentarily the second time until running even and then we both let off. Go figure, anything can happen on the street
If you're a decent driver my $$ would be on you and and the M6 WS6.

Honestly, they are very similar, and it will depend alot of the gearing option of the vette and of your driving skills.
Either way it will be a very close race, but you would have a better chance from a slow roll.
