Default Lost to 94-98GT

Ran a 94-98 Stang GT from 20 roll and the thing was loud. So we both nail it near the iddle of first. Once I got to second he started to walk by me to where he was about 2 car lengths ahead of me by 110. We hit a light did a u-turn and did the same thing back the other way. Same result, didn’t have a chance to ask him what he had done but it was insanely loud. I couldn’t even hear my car under full throttle, had to watch the tach like a hawk to gauge my shifts. Not sure if it was 4.6 or 5.0 as the badges were removed. I think I need to mod

Good death, when you saw the tail lights was the patern of the tail lights going vertical or across? My cuz has a 95 Gt (last yr of the 5.0) and his tail lights have the across patern as the last 5.0s did and another buddy of mine has the 4.6 with the patern going vertical. I love to beat on them.lol...But there are a few I dont mess with!

yep what tail lights did it have. That will give us the key to what year it was. Nice death, and time to start modding!

Some of those things are pretty mean. Nice death, now hurry up and close this thread before the mustang guys find out one of their own actually won a race, and start to think there is hope.

if it was horizontal tailight pattern, it was a 5.0, which can be pretty strong n/a, given enough mods. especially if stroked.

if it was a vertical tailight pattern, it was a 4.6,and he was either spraying bigtime, or had a big turbo/blower under the hood. the 96-98 4.6L engines were dogs, an responded fairly poorly to mods... maybe 20-30hp for full boltons. they really needed boost to make power.

i would guess, based on the noise, and your lack of notice of blower/turbo whine, it was probably a tricked out h/c/i 5.0. maybe a 347stroker. a strong h/c/i 347ci windsor is more or less a match for a h/c 346ci ls1, and easily the better of a stock/nearstock ls1.

Honorable death. Crustangs can be made fast with the right mods. If you had an opened Borla or true duels you would have been able to hear your car just fine over his.

I have been wondering what he had under the hood, don't recall the light pattern thats good to know though.

He seemed like a younger guy late teens early 20's so I would guess he went the affordable route and was spraying with gutted exhaust. Would a 100 shot be the biggest you could run on a stock internal 4.6 or 5.0?

xphantomws6x I have killed many T/A SS and Z06.My car is very streetable and very well known around here(helps being in Law Enforcement) LOL.
