Hey, I'm new to posting on the forums, I just got a 98 Z28 about 2 months ago. Driving home about 20 mins ago, and I had an encounter with rice that I'm still trying to calm down from.

I had just made a left turn onto a 2 lane road, when i see the epitome of rice. Red CRX, huge wing, exhaust, gay taillights, type R badges, liscense plate that read "CRXXX" etc. I drive along, ignoring him, until we stop at a red light. I'm in the right lane, with 3 cars in front of me, and hes in the left with the same amount in front of him. He starts revving, but I continue to ignore him. As the light turns green he waits a couple seconds for the cars in front of him to get ahead, then floors it. He then tailgates the car in front of him until he is able to cut it off. I finally make my way through traffic calmly to get behind him. He takes off again, and I hit it about 50% and stay a few feet off his back bumper. We come up to another group of cars, and I back off and move into the right because my turn is coming up. He weaves in and out of the cars to get about 3 or 4 cars ahead of me in traffic. I see him making a right turn exactly where I was making my right.
I think this is great, a chance to show this idiot up. The road we turn onto is one lane, and has about a 200 foot stretch before the speed limit goes down to 25. As I make the turn I notice he is going about 2 mph waiting for me, he hits it, and once again I lightly depress the gas to stay a foot or two off his bumper. After his futile attempt to beat me again, he pulls over alittle and starts revving...

So get this straight, he wants me to pull next to him (putting me into oncoming traffic) in a neighborhood. I look around and notice a 25mph speed limit sign, kids playing basketball, an older guy mowing his lawn etc etc. I shake my head no, and try to mouth "its a neighborhood". He laughed and gunned it again. Judging by how far he got ahead I'd say he got up to about 70mph
After this he pulls over, waits for me to catch up (I kept going at 25mph like any sane driver). As I come up to him, he pulls in front of me, and looks back laughing, I point to the upcoming 2 lane highway, which is relatively empty at this time of day, but he laughs and makes some kind of hand motion. I couldn't tell if he was flipping me off, or giving me an L for loser, but either way he makes a left, right before the highway. Now as you can tell I'm alittle pissed off. This guy will race me in and out of traffic, in neighborhoods, but not on an open road stop light to stoplight.
I know street racing of any kind isn't responsible, but atleast on an open road theres little chance of killing someone. This jackass pissed me off so much I had to vent here. Sorry about the length, but I still fuming. Trying to race in a neighborhood? Just remind me I did the right thing...

 

Its cool you did the right thing. He is the type of person you see on the news for killing some one while racing through a school zone.

 

You did do the right thing. Ricers **** me off too, but remember something, you have a Z and he has a CRX. (God I hate those little hemorroids.) He will probably end up telling his buddies that he just beat a Z28 and how bad *** his "CRXXX" is.

 

Thats when you need a metal bumper on the front of your car. Just make yourself a T-Bone Sandwhich

yeah that guy was a tool. he knew he would have to do somthing stupd to win a race.. thats why you see them halling *** through traffic cutting people off and ****... lets face it any 4 banger that will keep up with an ls1 will not be acting like an *** to impress you...

you did the right thing. let the ricers get a bad wrap not the fbody peeps!

 

i had a porche cayenne turbo do that to me once too. he hit 70 in a neighborhood, but wouldn't hit the highway right afterwards with me. blah.

 

Yea dude, u did the right thing. By not racing him you prove who's better. One more thing, if u dont want ricers to **** you off, put a badge on you bumper saying " My car eats RICE".

 

Way to keep your composure and do the right thing...

I think it would of been funny had he looked back to see how "badly he had beaten you" and he ran into a light poll or somthing. Anyways good job on doing the right think and not racing in town man. It's what any sane driver would do.

Remember that young kids have raging hormonal imbalances during puberty.
That seriously inhibits they’re ability to rationally and responsibly make judgments.
(No offense to any 'mature' teens out there that are the minority).

He isn't even worth the gas you would've spent.

 

He didn't look that young actually, he must have been in his mid to late 20s, older than me for sure.

Either way I calmed down alot after I posted, even though he really pissed me off, I still crack a little smile when i think of crxxx. And on the bright side I know what neighborhood he lives in, so I'm sure I'll see him again sometime.

 

Kudos to you. We need more people like you, and fewer like him.

yo dude im 17 and i know when i should race or not. First i have 4 poits on my liscence cuz its only the probationary so i cant afford to lose them by racing. If i ever race it would be late at night on a long road where there's no people.

ps... i wanan be iin the **** talkers finest too loll
