Default Killed an Sti for Cash

Hello to all this is my first post. Anyways I have this friend whose daddy just bought him a brand new Sti. Well I have owned my Z for about 3 months now and decided to see how it would stack up with the all mighty AWD econobox. He told me I wasnt worth his time so I ran to the ATM and got 60 bucks. Then I was worth his time, we lined them up on a little two lane country road and got it on from a dig. To his suprise (and mine) I pulled him right off the line and kept going. I ended up winning by 3 1/2 to 4 cars and he was pissed. Ends up he already has a turbo timer, boost controller and bad *** blowoff valve. I guess next time he wont be so cocky the next time pure american muscle shows him whats up.

I have Kuhmo Supra Ecsta's. On the street I have to feather it a bit off the line but on the track (San Antonio Dragway) they hook very well after a big smokey burnout.

Don't get too cocky.

With an experienced driver behind the wheel of those cars, they're mid 13 second cars, stock. With his mods, he's likely in the low 13's, with a driver that has some experience.

As you noted, daddy just bought that car for him, so he likely didn't know how to properly launch that car, which is they're strength. You just beat an inexperienced driver.

Good kill though.
It's fun trouncing on cars that should be similar, if not faster because of driver inexperience at the 1320 runs....

Nice kill Yeah, I am guessing he didnt know how to drive for ****, if you beat him by that much. Still doesnt take away the fact that you are 60 dollars richer. Good job, and welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board man and nice Kill

good way to make some scratch... But i am really wondering why you are not into the easy high 12's because with your size converter, and mods, you should have been in the 12's by now! but nice kill man and keep hitting the track!

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing... A healthy converter like that will get you a good .3-.5 off your 1/4 mile time, especially with decent traction which he seems to have...

Look at his MPH, it was all traction right there, I trapped 103mph *3540lbs raceweight* and only ran 13.6...

Good race!!!

I disagree with some of your statement. He should have won even if the guy was a expert driver. He is driving a high 12 second car and the Sti is a low 13 second car.
Remember anything can happen on the street.
Good kill!

ps welcome to the board.

That car with a good driver will be a mid 13 stock. I Know they have knocked off 13.3's in the Sti but that is not an everyday occurance at the track. I have an Evo and have obviously seen both cars at track. 13.4-13.7 all day. You can't turn the boost up to much on the Sti because it is a small turbo. If he doesn't no how to launch, its game over for the Evo or Sti. I am not suprised you won at all, You have to beat these cars to get those times, I do, most won't.

Good kill. But, with the mods he has on his Sti, his performance shouldn't be much better than stock...if at all. Turbo timer? Why? It's completely unneccessary on a Subaru...and a waste of money. Loud-*** BOV? Pure bling...no performance increase. The boost controller is the only real performance mod on the car. If anything, he can now achieve full boost in 1st and 2nd. And if he doesn't know how to launch the car, that boost isn't gonna do him any good.
