Default Killed a SS Silverado.

I drove to Raleigh to my brothers house this past weekend to put my new springs and shocks on my car. My brother has a '03 SS Silverado pick up. He has headers, exhaust and an intake on it and thats it. Well he has run his mouth about being able to kill me out of hole because it is all-wheel drive. I finally got the chance to run him. On the way to his shop (I am following him) we come to a light and line up side by side. Well, he was kind of right about beating me out of the hole...for about 20 feet. I have bald tires so I couldn't floor it out of the hole. I feather the gas and hoover right on the edge of traction. Well after the first 20 feet it looked like he dropped an anchor. I proceeded to put about 5 to 6 cars on him by the time I reach 75 mph. I know I should kill him but it was a fun race anyway. He still has a pretty quick truck.

How hard is it to put new springs and shocks on our cars? What shop does he work at, I live in Cary.

I dont think it's too hard, doc. Today my car is going into the shop for a 3.5 inch drop on all 4 corners. I hope it will still make it up the driveway...

The back springs and shocks can be done in about 1 hour or less. The front springs and shocks are a little tougher. The only real problem is getting the upper spring plate off of the old shock. I beat the hell out of mine and still it didn't budge. I ended up buying new plates $62 each at Carquest. After I got the new ones everything was simple. Use the directions on http://www.ls1howto.com. They worked for me. Outside of the spring plate the only other hard part was losening the torx bolts on the drivers side of the shock tower. That was a PITA. You will need another person helping for some parts but you can do 90% of it by yourself.
