Default 14 GT500 vs C7 Z06 Auto

Was out cruising with shovel face, when I noticed an auto C7 Z06 roaring by me. I knew it was on. We got on the highway, waited for our 2 lanes to clear and go straight. I honked it and off we went...

After the run, I slowed down and waited for him to catch up so that we could maybe run again or chat, but the Z06 driver stayed back and away...

My GT500 is stock, minus a fresh Airaid filter. Im assuming the C7Z was stock.

Anyway, here is the results:

**** man, Im not really sure. I pulled out of the hit, but once I shifted he gained on me, then my car seemed to pull back.... maybe he got nervous and lifted? Not really sure. I do know our two lanes were clear...

Not even sure why he never came back around after our only run... especially since he was the one that instigated the race.

Hard to pick a fair winner based on this run, but good job regardless. On paper these two cars stock are really close right?

Why is it hard to pick a fair winner? Outcome is clear, no? Lol

Yes, on paper cars are close with an edge going to the Z, but as you can see anything goes on the streets.

I just recently put a fresh air filter, maybe that that little extra to pull the W off...

Maybe I should have worded it differently. Obviously you won, but what I meant was is that it looks like something happened with the Vette. Maybe he spun, let out, whatever, etc...Either way you won that particular race no doubt

I'd say on a good run the two cars would prob. be a good race.

Sorry but I can't even call that a run. Just over 5 sec from start to when the vette lifts. Chit. If I lifted just over 5 sec, on a couple runs, I would be able to call myself a winner over Carlos car. Week sauce. Lmao.

The run lasted about 9 secs... just cause the car went out of frame, doesnt mean that the race was over or the vette lifted. Even if the race was only 5 seconds or so. These cars can go from 60-120 in about 5 sec.

Sorry that the Z06 didnt not perform as expected / put up a better fight, but that was definitely a run.

EhhJ must have had a catch can or an airbox hole plugged for this to have even been a possibility.

Try not to take my post negatively or personally. I have no prob. wit your gt500. Awesome cars. My guess is the vette lifted as you can see the nose dive. I'm going to also guess you started that run in second gear? The only way I'd believe your car pulls from 60-120 in round 5 sec is record your speedometer. Going off gear/speed you got to the top of third in round 8 seconds. Which I would think is round 120mph. Maybe you started in third & pulled 4th out to over 160mph in that run. What gear you start in?

Not taken negatively/personally. Your first guess is correct, started in second... The latter part of your guess is incorrect, my 2nd gear goes to 95mph. My 3rd gear goes to 135mph. On that run I only took my car to the top of 3rd (135).

Believe it or not, this car catches even more steam in 4th (which goes to 175mph).

You should watch my other race vs a big cam/bolt on c6 ls3 vette, to get a better idea.

Its all good either way. Win or lose, I just like posting videos to entertain.

Looked like he got out of it as soon as he pulled up and you shifted. Good run though... you have been hot lately!
