CTS-V Kills
Hi, guys - I'm new to this forum and the proud owner of my brand-new 2005 CTS-V. My "V" is no where near broken in yet (240 miles) so you won't see me racing it yet. However, I'm curious to hear some CTS-V stories and how it's faring out on the street. From the short time I've owned it, it sure does seem to have some serious potential.
Great stories on this forum, by the way!!

is that the cts with the ls6 that somehow only uses like 4 cyliners to conserve gas? or is that the new sts. I know I read something about that in motortrend. Anyway. what are your specs?

I believe you're havin' a little fun with me, right? I think by now that all LS-1 enthusiasts know that a CTS-V has an LS-6 engine and, no, it doesn't cut down to 4 cylinders or whatever bull***t you're harping about - that happens to be in the new Chrysler with the hemi.
I guess because the CTS-V is a 4 door sedan that happens to have a 400 HP engine that it can't be compared to all your super coupes. Well, let me get this off my chest........ I traded my '99 Trans-Am WS6 for my CTS-V because I needed the room and, believe me, I was sick that I had to do it. That is, until I drove the CTS-V for real the first time - it handles better, has more room, and performance is about the same, if not better than the T/A! Don't get me wrong, if I could have kept both the T/A and the CTS-V I would have, but it just wasn't practical.
The point I'm trying to make is I don't understand why you guys "pooh-pooh" the "V". It definitely will run with the F bodies, Mustangs, and GTO's, all great cars in their own right. Maybe I'm a little sensitive, but I'd like to see us "V" owners get a little respect.

JEBUS.........
Take the ***** out of your mouth and take one deep breath. I was just simply asking you a freakin question, dont take it so damned personal. I dont have any idea about any of the specs of the ctsv other than I knew it had an ls6. Yes the new 300c hemi does the 4 cylinder thing I was talking about, and I thought I read somewhere that the ctsv was going to do the same thing. MY FRICKING BAD asswipe. Dont frickin rip on me because I was asking a simple question about a car (not engine) that I have not the first clue about. If you take a simple question: to heart like that...then you need to just grow the hell up. All I was trying to do is gain a little knowledge about another ls6 powered vehicle. If you want, I am sure that I can find some **** I can throw at you about why the cts-v is a shitty car...but ya know what it has an ls6 so I dont really want to put down such a reputible powerplant. I am sure it does because as we all know, as enthusiasts, that the ls6 does have great potential. Just go put some local punks to shame, post up your kills, and have fun with your new baby.
Sorry for the rant, you just needed to not read so far into a simply stated question.

CTS-V's are awesome looking performing and looking cars. Saw one the other day and I was really impressed with it. Only bad thing ive heard about them is the awful wheel hop the car experiences. Nice car though and try to post some pics.

Now take a deep breath and try to relax.
Dont know about a kill, but word on the street in Charlotte is that More Performance has one with some serious mods already done to it. Heads, cam and forced induction is what i hear. Now like i said i cant confirm this, but if anyone was to do it, More would be the ones. Ive seen a few of these here and about, soon as i find one that the owner doesnt go see an anthropologist instead of a doctor (read driver less than 400 yrs old) I'll try and get me a race. Id love to catch one at a light. Very nice cars IMHO.
You need to step off of his nuts Nicky. He asked a straightforward question. He wasn't suggessting you drove a 4-banger just whether it had the gas saving option of dropping cylinders on the highway.

haha, where'd he go? probably feels real stupid now and doesnt know what to say. As far as what was said before about using only 4 cylinders to cut gas...yes GM has developed a new system....its called DOD, displacement on demand...or maybe thats the Chrysler one, I cant remember. Point is GM has it too, and no its not on the CTS-V. Not yet at least. So that was a legitimate question.

Anywho, I'm sure NICKY got the point, as he has not posted since the bashing.
Damn, everyone sure jumped all over this one.
Nicky, go get some kills with that bad *** Caddy of yours and post up!
I believe I posted to your intro post(s) when you first came on this board. I made some comment about your red calipers adding horsepower. They just looked funny on a Caddy, what can I say? This was just ball busting that every new guy making a post in here gets. Get some kills, smoke a bowl, post up, everybody have a coke and a smile and you'll be good. Don't let a little ball busting steer you away from the kill section/ this site. You're in the right place.
OK guys, I guess I kind of over-reacted right off the bat, didn't I? My apologies to all of you.
You have to understand where this all started. After I picked up my car about 7 weeks ago, I jumped on another forum (which I won't mention) and introduced myself as a "newbee." I promptly got jumped on as a "Corvette wannabe" and the guy posting was a real ***hole, saying that "if you want a Corvette, buy a Corvette", yada, yada, yada. Then, after my post on this forum, I got what I thought was a smart-*** answer - I just figured that guys who know as much about cars as you guys do knew about the LS6 in the CTS. Again, if there was a misunderstanding, I apologize. I respect all of your opinions and comments and I'm proud to be a member of the "LS" family.
Please go easy on me......hope we can start out fresh. I honestly believe this is the best LS site of all that I've visited and I would certainly like to continue coming here.
By the way, the "V" with the red calipers is not mine.
