Well, I drive an M6, but I wonder the same damn thing. If it's stalled, I say the A4 has the advantage...shifting is just one less thing the driver has to worry about.

Other cars may see a significant performance difference between the stick and auto, but with these cars, it's about a close as it can be. A couple of my friends drive A4's, and I love watching them hand some stick driver his *** after he tells them they drive a "Chick car".

I don't see how you can call bs on a story like this when the guy is putting almost 100 more hp to the ground than the Z06.
I said he would take a stock Z06.

R > C > P

Also, I'm pretty sure he said he raced from around 40 mph to around 105 mph. He said he flipped the TCS switch around 65-70 mph.
He said he was spinning.

R > C > P

Wow. First 01BlownLS1 gets the flag on him beating a Z06... then he gets flamed for attempting it. No respect.
This is what this section is for, you know... "Street Kills".
Again... Nice kill, and it is believable, THE ENTIRE story sounds like it could have happened. Don't sweat the people giving you greef.

Actually the story could NOT have happened the way he said.

And I clearly stated also that his car would take a stock Z06. Those things are fast, I've been waiting to try one on the freeway myself if that middle aged guy driving the black one around here will ever get next to me.

to the young man who said he cant get a vette or viper to race him:
the best way to get a viper or zo6 to race you is to smerk and shake you head when he pulls up. dont gun it until he does. eventualy he will wanna show you he can kill you. then murder him

Would it have been more respectable if he used some other type of power adder? How about taking out the motor and re working it.
How the hell else is a f-body going to beat a z06. Last time I checked a stock F-body doesn’t put up much of a fight.

RE: the Z06, I think I have heard that "anything can happen on the street" so I'll side with the believers on this one.

why does every one still think A4 are so much slower than an M6 anyways whatever. with my TC i see 8 psi almost instantly.
Most of the time, from a roll, A4's are slower...Not always. From a dig though, me and my dad are side by side. From a roll I pull a slight bit.

My dad has a 2001 A4 SS with SLP lid, and I have a 99 Z28 M6 with SLP lid, and cutout.

He gave the Z06 the jump, spun until he hit 70, then proceeded to put 4+ car lengths on a Z06 from 70-90.

The only way this could happen (with an A4 even) is if the Z06 hit the brakes.

End of story.

Maybe he missed a shift? Twice in a row? Just playing Devil's Advocate here.

Guys I race from roll ons all the time and it takes a split second to move your hand from the shifter to the ASR off and back. His light probably kicked at the 75mph~3rd gear shift and im sure he didnt let completely off. When the asr trips you only have to back down to 3/4 throttle to disable it.. we are talking split seconds here..and during that 3/4 throttle he was probably keeping the same distance between him and the Z06. Ive hit the light during a 2 to 3 shift before...only I didnt have to let off because im not making enough power to spin.

Also I dont know about the poster of the kill..but when I race Manual cars I kick down to the lowest gear I can..and since getting my trans worked I dont lose any ground like I used to with the stock trans setup.

Good Kill.

This guy has 100 rwhp more than his opponent and at the speed they were traveling the weight difference doesn't have the same effect. I think he'd pull pretty hard at that point.

Also, if you're in a race you usually don't have your attention on every minute detail. So we should forgive him in any slight inaccuracies.
