Beat a Maxima Yesterday night I raced my friends 95 Maxima. I don't know all the specs on it but he gave me a ride in it and it really did haul. It's an automatic V6 that's about all he knew, he just got it a few days ago. So we went out on a road by my farm and lined up. I had 1 friend with me in my 99 GMC Sierra 5.3 ECSB. I have a tool box on the back and a lot of other junk in the truck so he took 2 guys with him. We lined up and when we hit it I jumped ahead. The front of his car was at my tailgate just about the whole race. He never gained on me from that point. I put some distance on him as we raced up to 98, my top speed. When I got to 98 he was down about 1.5 to 2 car lengths or so. I was really suprised my truck beat a Maxima. It was a good race and he didn't say much about it the rest of the night but I never gave him a hard time. Earlier that day my friend that has an 95 Ecplise 4 cylinder non turbo was like dude his car is fast I think it can take your truck, I was like yeah your probably right. So I showed em all what a GM V8 can do. I was proud of my truck it can still run pretty good even after 160k miles. I have done all the free mods and have a drop in K&N. I also didn't have a spare tire on. One question I had though is what do the drag racing guru's think my 1/4 E.T would be. I've beat my parent's 6.0 ESCALADE by a little more than a car length and a friends 5.4 Blackwood by about the same amount. Just to give everyone some perspective. I would guess around 15.8 or so.
