Question About Cobras

So, i know that Lt1's can hang or pull on 99-02 cobras because they are not supercharged, and that 03 is where they kill us. But is there anyway to tell by just looking at the body whether a cobra is a pre 03?? Just curious, so I don't mess with anything I can't handle, thanks.

They can run with 96-98 Cobras and maybe those few 99s that did not get recalled and fixed. The 00-01s were a bit faster than an stock LT1 F-body. No 02 Cobras were made.

The '03-04's have a different hood with the air vents to either side of the centerline and the hood is taller I believe. They also have Brembo brakes up front with Cobra on the calipers. '99's have SVT and the Snake emblems but Mustang in the rear bumper. Also, there's that whining bit going on. Last of all, the S/C Snakes have the heat exchanger for the intercooler and a different facia. The foglights have brake cooling duct holes next to them in an oval port.

Either my eyes are messed up buy my buddies 04 cobra's front rims are chrome, while the backs are just plain aluminum. They're the exact same wheel, but every time I see them that's how they look. I do love his color changing paint
