In a quick google search for "05 mustang curb weight" I've found 3300+, 3520, 3450, 3483, annother 3450, and a 3450manual/3500auto.

Sounds like 3450-3500 is about right.

Quick search on a 98 auto trans am results in 3494 and 3477.

So I rephrase, the car weighs about the same as mine, has similar gearing, and less hp, but turns in equal or better times... huh?

Longtubes headers, JLT RAI, and am putting on a set of Weld Draglites 15x3.5's up front and 15x8's out back with new M/T Drag radials.. I was running with my stock rims out front and some heavy 17x10.5 Black Bullitts out back with 17 ET Streets.. Its going to be fun...

Uh huh, what's your Mach weigh in at? 1.63 60'? Not too shabby. 12.2 with 308 RWHP? Nevermind....

Charlie...can you please expound a bit on what you were implying with the "Nevermidn" comment? I'm trying to read between the lines, but honestly, I'm not very good at it.

Thanks.

Sure, I don't think I've ever seen what should be a 3400# car run 12.2 with 308 RWHP. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time but I'd have to be there, see a video or hear it from someone I know and or trust. If any of you guys think I'm wrong, jump in on this.

Ah, ok. Yes, it is quite possible. Several have gone as quick or quicker with similar power to weight ratios. For my own example, my old 99 Cobra had about that HP when it was internally stock, and went 12.02 at 3450 lbs on DRs (Atco NMRA race, Aug 2001), and 11.85 in better air at 3350 @ 3350 lbs (MM&FF mag shootout, E-town, Nov 2001). I went quicker on slicks, but with less weight.

I recall hearing about a 99 Cobra running in factory stock class at about 11.7 and 115mph, it was black. Its been in 5.0 mag numerous times,Also think it dynoed a bit over three hundred horsepower. How good is my memory , Bob

05 mustangs down here have been running 13's all day long at Houston Raceway Park...

everyone should know by know that stangs have always been a better "out of the hole" as you will vehicle. I can outlaunch almost every f-body.. tire to tire...

unless they are on the gun or something

My few experiences racing mustangs bear this out. first gear they jump out a car, second gear i slowly reel them in, third gear i start putting carlength after carlength on them.

Too bad that slapping a supercharger on the new 05s probably isn't gonna gain what it did on the 5.0 or old 4.6L, because compression ratio is up (again) if i recall correctly. Getting close to 11:1 isn't it?

Nah, it's 9.8:1. Not exactly optimum for blowers, but certainly not blower unfriendly.

Yeah man he must of been a idiot

One time I was in a gastation about to pay for my gas that I had put in my dads 98 GT Mustang (slow yes I know)
A guy walked up behind me and said is that a 4.6L? and I said yes ,he says: I have a 5.7L Z28 at home that could smoke you car!(no smile on his face just being a ***)
I said oh really? Thats cool... I have a 5.0 Mustang at the house I can go get that will smoke your 5.7L His face looked like this
I just thought it was funny and the clerk behind the counter said "ohhhh man that was good" and the mean guy didn't say anything else... I could have been lying for all he knew(I wasn't)

Besure to run him next time you see him
