I have a friend who's brother has a 1990 5.0 which he claims ran a 9 something 1/4 mile on just engine work no spray no FI..is this even possible?

he said hes gonna get me a timeslip and a mod list plus a video of it against a stock LS1 transam...ill get back to u with the other stuff but is it possible to run 9 secs with only engine

....Edited- He says its a rebuilt 1990 5.0 with these mods.. bored pistons, roller cam, new roller rockers,lifters,shaved head, a bigger intake manifold, a dual quad edelbrock carburator and some other stuff that hes gonna tell me later...

 

I guess anything is possible, as long as you have some deep pockets.$$$$ But I'd be willing to bet he ment to say 1/8 not 1/4

Frankly There Is Now Way That He Ran A 9 In That Form. My Friend Has A Pretty Much Race 331 With A 200 Shot Of Nitrous And His Car Wieghs Nothing, And It Only Ran A 10.2 I Believe. Of Course That Is At Our High Altitude, Corrected I Dont Know What That Would Be. This Car Is Awesome, No Ac, Ps. It Has A Manual Rack, Full Suspension And It Can Go. I Doubt That Guy Ran A 9 With Only Those Mods.

 

Now that I know the mods,,,,,, no, that will not run 9's with those mods. But there are cars in the NMRA and FFW Classes that run into the 8's all motor. The classes are "Hot Street" and "Street Bandit". Now if he is runnin in one of those classes, then yes but he's not so no.
