You'll have another hot rod soon enough.

For now, sit back and relax in your new house with your healthy family.

well there is an old saying that holds very true in this situation. Its better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all. In this case the love of speed.

Dont get to bummed out man I had my first kid when I was 19, I have always wanted to get in to hot rods but it never does fit in to my budget, I have tons of friends that race and it burns me up to know I want be able to afford it for atleast 2 or 3 more years, I am 32 now so I have spent the better part of 12 years wishing I could buy a street rod, It just never takes 1st place on the we need list. But once my kids are older you guys better watch out I am gonna unlesh 15 years of dreams on your *sses, lol by then it will be all electric ****, internal combustion engines will be banned, oh well, just wanted you to know dude your not the first to put your family ahead fast cars ,

I say keep your chin up dude and respect you for being a good man who takes care of his family.

Ive yet to reach that part of my life where i start a family, but when I do, I can only hope to follow in your and 99-ls1-ss's footsteps. Im glad ive got my toy now, but when the time comes, everything else will take a distant second place to my family.

That sucks man. Oh well, at the end of the day it's just a car (I'm sure you've heard THAT before and it doesn't help :p ), and you'll have another before you know, good luck.

Dude that blows!!! My wants severely exceeds my means. Its hard as hell to do the "family thing" and do "my thing" at the same time. I feel your pain. I hope everything starts going right for you.

A house too big? Paying for your own wedding (Iam in the same boat but for us it is a reneweal ceremony for the family since we did the original at a courthouse)? A checking account at $15k... ooofff...

I freak out if our checking account goes below a tank of gas... $50...

I would love to have $15k in the bank.

99-LS1-SS - I do feel for you man, not having a fun toy can be a bit on the downer side, but you do have everything you need for happiness right there with you. A home, and a healthy family... God bless and your time will come again. Live vicariously through your brother, as I had to when I sold my original Mustang and my brother bought a 2000 GT... Now he drives a Focus and the wife and I have the Cammed SS, so the roles have swapped...

my buddy owns the BBQ place that started it all here, they are experimenting with shipping the stuff using dry ice, but just in a reg cooler i think they say it would stay "safe to eat" by regulations for 4 hours???dry ice would make it a lot longer, if they get it straightened out and u can't make it, ill ship ya a pound of the stuff overnight

Cool. I have some relatives in Charleston. I am about 13 hours away from there. I might make it in the second half of the year. I am about to waste the week of vacation I have in Destin. All the oysters and pina colada's I can handle!
