Hell Yeah!!!.............Just walked a C6 bad!
The wife and I were on our way to eat at Applebees's tonight and right as I pulled out of our neighborhood a red C6 goes driving by. Since I have eargely been awaiting a race with one of these since they came out (especially after the cam) I accelerated rather rapidly to catch up (and I think that he noticed). At the light he was in front and I had to fall in behind him, since there were cars in the other lane. I noticed that he was middle aged and figured, with my track record on racing vettes (lined up with at least 5 in the past and none of them wanted to race), this guy was probably not going to race either. Because we all know that people that own vettes are better than us and dont have to race to prove themselves.
(If you own a vette and are not like this then please don't get offended, I am just remarking to the ones that are too stuck up)
The light goes green and he takes off slow, and I figure yep here is another one not going to race. So I shift into 2nd gear, when all of a sudden there he goes. Without enough time to shift I just punch it, and I was not in the best rpm range to catch up quick, and he had already put a good three car lengths on me. By the end of second gear I am starting to reel him in, shift into third, continue reeling and by the end of third the front of my car is even with his rear bumper, (Damn these cars are fast). Slam fourth, even it up and then put a solid car on him before the shift light comes on in fourth. Yesss!

Oh and did I mention that the whole time the t-tops were off. So aerodynamics was not on my side here, but that is a pretty mute point, just thought that I would throw it in there.
Best part about the whole thing was when the guy caught up, I yelled out the window, "Awesome ride." He replied, "You too, what have you got in there nitrous!?"
My reply, "Nope, just a cam." He give me a thumbs up and takes a right hand turn to be on his way. It was very flattering to hear him ask me that. Especially considering that I don't have nitrous.
Absolutely awesome race. I didn't know if I had what it would take to beat a new C6 especially starting off from behind. But I did, not only did I catch him, but I passed him. Needless to say I am pretty stoked about the whole deal, and thought I would share my excitement.

. Maybe they are sick of being asked to prove themselves to every rice rocket and pony car that pulls up to them. Get over yourself - my guess is that those owners didn't have the desire to please you at the top of their list when they bought their cars.
Good kill though, I woulda raced ya if you pulled up on me

Jeez
Awesome kill! I can't say that I don't believe that whoopin' on that C6 doesn't have some kind of bad repercussions. I couldn't help but feel a little bad about taking out such a beautiful specimen.
WHO AM I KIDDING?!?!?! Once again, good kill.
Justin
Oh and to follow suit...nice lookin' ride.
