I've had people challenge my runs on this site as well..... So I offered to run!

How much does your car weigh (strip anything?) And what did you DYNO?

A stock Z runs low 12s at 113-115 (thats a low average for MPH)

A factory stock TA weighs in at 3350 w/o driver and would take over 400RWHP to run high 11s.
And it would take atleast ( a car capable of ) a high 11 to put 2-3 cars (=4 tenths) on a Z in a 1/4. That is not considering the TRAP speed of 110 (your run in with a Z) is lower than what a average Z yields in the 1/4.
yeah i'm down to race, i'm not sure where you're located in S. cali? but like i said i accept the challenge. My car has no weight reduction, full interior. what mods are done to your Z, if you don't mind me asking? dyno?

You should get over the fact that a modded LS1 CAN beat a Z06.

The Z06 is pretty much king of the road for Stock Cars, but you compare a cammed/full exhaust ls1 to a stock ls6, there probablly won't be alot of difference power wise. And keep in mind they only went to 110, further than that, the Z woulda started reeling him in.

he might've started to wheel me in after that... but i doubt it, he was pretty back there. by that speed the race is over anyway, so no point in continuing the race.

Hey that's the same cam I just put in my car. I haven't really raced anybody yet, but it seems to pull hard to 6700 or so. I love this cam Was it hard to tune in an A4 ?

good run, but if where from a roll, you would have seen his tail lights, if he knew how to drive. Unless your car is lighter and the cam you have makes above 400--rwhp? From a dig doesnt get to many Z06's that can match a stall on the street. Good job though

it's not hard to believe that a cammed ws6 beat a slightly modded z06.

Atleast put some thought into what I wrote, before you shoot off on some tangent of LS1 vs LS6.

I've put away more than 1 modded LS1 ..........2000 TA A4 (125 shot, DRs and exhaust) and a 2001 SS 6spd (100 shot, bolt-ons and exhaust) Both runs on radials
My Z ran mid 12s at 113 first out (radials>> Not DRs)

I never said it was impossible! If his TA makes over 400 to the tire....its a drivers race. SO transhawk.....you might want to shoot for that # before a Z puts you in your place.

This is all in fun.........

I am not trying to put down you, your car, or any Z06 at all. But the way I read your post is that you have a mentality that the Z06 off the floor is hard to beat. From what I know, they run mid to high 12's in stock form, driver dependent. Smoking one with any cammed and bolt on ls1 should be a pretty easy task, again though, driver dependent.

Also, your car has some pretty decent mods I guessing, so comparing your Z to a stock Z is like compairing russet potatos to yams (I just made that up !!!)

As far as a Z getting the better of me...I have no prob with that. I really didn't buy my car to mod and race, more to enjoy and have fun opening it up. I have contemplated trading mine for a Z, but I like having the rarity of a Firehawk, that is just me.

If I ever do any internal mods, It will be with GM performance parts (meaning LS6 stuff) but that will probably never happen.

i have taken out a couple of z's in my camaro ss in the past. now that i own a z i am very careful racing cammed ls1's because i know their potential. i posted a video of my camaro racing a 04 z06. i am just about to open up the exhaust and air intake and see what this car can do.

yeah not to bash your kill good job but when i drove a brand new 04 z06 i was really surprised i had a stall headers and a lid w/3:73s and i thought after the new power i could beat one easy but after drivin thar z06 i think the z probley would have got me once it hit 3rd but now with my new mods i wouldnt be afraid to run one!
