i was riding on the freeway and i pull behind this c5 vette stock exhaust, he's in the fast lane so i ride him a bit at about 75 mph, i'm thinking to my self is he going to run it. he then starts to speed up a bit, so i down shifted to 4th and he hits it, and i nail it. he's about 2 cars ahead, we pass a few slow moving cars and i get over in the next lane, by the end of 4th i pulled to his bumper, i grab 5th i pull to his rear tire the he shuts it down
i fly past him then hit the brakes. as i looked at the speedo i was in the 130's.
i slow down and let him catch up, and he gives me this look . so we are side by side and my exit is coming, i roll my window down to ask him if he wanted to go again, the guy ignored me so i punched it, he didn't chase me so i figure his feeling were hurt . i've raced c5 vettes before in my 92z28 and got owned big time, i was wondering was this guy running his vette or just playing with me, because i ran the goat hard and i was walking him down

 

Believe it or not the '05 GTO should be slightly faster than a C5 Vette based off the stock numbers I've got. On the top end I think the C5 might have the slight advantage(power-to-weight ratio, aerodynamics).

 

i thought maybe he would walk me but i walked him down before he shut it down. how do TA's and SS's do against stock c5's.

 

Nice I cant get anyone to play yet. Glad to know they will keep up, good color choice.

 

Stock for stock TAs and SSs go on par with C5s usually. Too close to call. They have a weight advantage, but f-body gearing is slightly better (as is suspension for drag racing).
