Last night I was in Fairfax and I was trying to meet up with some buddys. We were supposed to meet up by Giant food on the main drag though town. Well I was pretty sure I passed it but as I stopped in the fast lane for a red light I ask these kids next to me if I had passed the Giant already...sure nuff did. Anyway as I am talking to the people on my left a NEW Red C6 pulls up. I'm guessing the guy was late 50's...I look over and he doesn't acknowledge me as a usuall vette owner does so i wasn't expecting anything to happen...On top off all of this I had just installed a new Spec III clutch and have only 200miles on it...So much for break-in Light turns green again I am not expecting anything but i did go easy in 1st and started to (not racing) pull away from the vette when the C6 let it rip! Instantly caught me off gaurd and put a car on me by the time I reacted. Hit 2nd thinking I could make it up....Nope stayed exaclty 1 car behind him till the end of 2nd. Started to pull him in 3rd but we both he shut down b/c it was like a 40mph road Anyhow he slowed down and gave me a wave and I beeped. Would have been very very close had I known he wanted to race but oh well I guess I lost this one.

i know how you feel, i raced a c5 in my gto, he got the jump and i had a sloppy 2-3 shift, lost by 3/4 car before he shut it down i'll get him back soon, or any c5 i can race

 

nice death...too bad it was a "sniper" death.

Do what I did Add a bigger cam and wave Bye bye to the stocker C6's You'll get'em next time

 

I would not mind loosing to a C6

 

i wouldnt call it a loss if it wasnt a real race
