Ok, I know this guy with an 82 Camaro he is a friend of a friend but he is a real jerk. He keeps talking **** about he thinks he can beat me and stuff. Here is what I know about his Camaro , it is a 1982 may or may not have the original engine ( my buddy said he put a old 350 truck engine in it or some **** but I think its original) The engine is way out of tune, runs rich as hell and burns hella oil. Bottom line is I'm betting he barely makes 200 Horsepower. Now I know I can beat him but he is such a cocky bitch that I just really want to spank him. How bad could I expect to beat him from a roll and from a dig... I am considering buying a new lid and cutouts just for this jerk... btw my car is totally stock except for my hooker catback.

 

not even a real race..........u could probaly beat him in reverse.

 

werd! the 82 camaro, w/ a truck engine, running real rich and smoking pretty bad, shouldn't have a chance against the formula. with him being really cocky, you should throw some money on the race. and have some fun with him.

 

Yeah bet him 500 on the race or go get a slower car like a old neon or something. NOt close i have a 89 Silverodo with a 350 that i have beaten old **** like that before. If he talks alot of **** bet more money.

 

formula hands down. you could probly beat him to the finish, stop, turnaround, and get a couple pictures of him finishing up his last 1/8th mile.

 

realistically you will beat him by3 full seconds in the quarter mile, about 15 car lengths to be honest. Not even a race. But race him for money, or at least in front of a bunch of people, and make sure to tell him and everyone ahead of time to list his excuses on why he is abou to get beat real bad and call him a ***** a lot...thats what I do and it works great. I have even made up stickers to put on peoples cars that say "I am (your name)'s Bitch"......they really like that alot.

 

I have a feeling he is never going to race me and is just talking **** because thats what he does. I would love to beat him by 3 full seconds or more the more the better, I really hate this guy...

 

well if its the original engine its a 305 cross fire injection peice of crap. they make about 150ish hp. if you wanna know how bad youll beat him go find a 3.4L camaro or firebird and race one. it would be about the same but worse. the 3.4s run 16s. the cross fire injected 305s did about high 16s and even dipping into the 17s.

even if it has a truck engine 350 its still going to get smoked. id say youll beat real bad. this race would be measured in football fields.

not when i race at the track...me and this z06 ran a couple of times, I ran .5 faster and it was 3, maybe 4 cars each time.

 

You was able to count looking behind you? Tough to do and tough to count. I know for a fact that if a car is .1 tenth slower, he is on your bumper, hence 1 car back.

 

Just wanted to interject.

It's original motor is probably NOT the 305 CFI LU5 engine, as that engine is extremely rare to be found. And it put out 165 FWHP@4200 and 240 FWTQ@2400, also had optional 3.23 gears with the auto, standard 3.23s with the stick. They were fast for their day.

The motor (if it's stock) that is probably in it is the 305 4-barrel carb 305, the LG4. It's a POS motor with 145 HP at the fly. Only available in 2.73 variety as well.

He might get you in the first 10", lol. If there was any chance for him it would be from a dig, but anyways you'll own him. All 3rd gens like 86 and under are a POS IMO.

 

They make good race cars. Alot, of the early 3rd gens are pretty light. But, stock they are SLOW.

Just because the motor is from a truck doesn't make it slow. I built the motor for my old 69 chevelle from an old 350 from a truck, and I ran mid 11's with it, it sounds like he has a turd and you'll kill him but you never know....

 

I would imagine that if it is the 305 carb, you could give it a run for its money in the jetta.

 

Well stock or not, like I said the engine runs like ****, way rich and burns hella oil. I think hes stock but I don't think I will ever know because every time we make plans to race "something comes up" hes is just a ***** with an ego bigger than his engine!
