Chevy has the Trailblazer SS on the way, C6 vettes are kicking butt plus the Zo6 is nothing to laugh at. Porchse has some nice new toys and we can't pick on them like we could in the past. (It was great out running cars that cost ALOT more than the f-bodies.) Mercedes and BMW have a few cars that are scary as hell. See it’s not the price range at all because the camaro in its day could out run cars that cost 3 times as much as they did but those days are fading. The scary part is that the cars some of you consider worthy were never built for drag racing while the camaro "kinda" was.
I guess in sort maybe you should just do what I did and drive a few different cars and maybe you will see what I mean. I was in your shoes a year ago but after test driving some of the newer cars all I can say is wow. I will sadly addmit that I will never own or drive a stock LS1 now.

The newer cars are getting faster every year, that goes without saying. Everyone knows a car thats 5+ years old is going to have trouble keeping up with a new car in most cases. With that said, what ever happend to enjoying a car because of what it is? Maybe not everyone in the world goes 100% on performance numbers? What year is your STI? I'm willing to bet my "outdated" 99 FRC vette will give your "new" STI a nice big surprise in a straight line, top end, road course, you name it! Here's the breaking news: If your "new" STI beats an "outdated" LS1, that doesn't make your STI cool. It'll still be a daily driver AWD rice box that the wives and girlfriends can handle. Like said before, take your STI crap to the highschool forums. Enough said about the over rated rice box.

Man you guys are so funny. You do know I have a LS1 in the thirdgen that will take out alot of cars on here right? When did I say the STI was godly? I said I picked it up for a daily thats all. Can you guys read?

God you people missed my whole point. My Iroc is my baby and "race car" The 05 STI is replacing my 93 TT Stealth (450HP that can do its damage to enough of the cars on here) I never heard you guys get pissed about that car for some reason.

It'll still be a daily driver AWD
Exactly why the hell did I say I got it? Oh thats right for a daily driver.

BTW I just picked one up for a daily driver.
Yes I did. The VERY first post!

Wow, technology changes so fast in the car industry. It reminds me of the computer market, lol.

Don't be suprised to see a 2007 camaro. Still many talks about it and has not been dropped yet. Rumors always interest me, but I would like to see something new.

Thats so true and what I was trying to explain but maybe I didnt come acrossed clearly. I cant wait to see the new Camaro because if it performs anything like the new vette I might be selling some toys to get one. I dont want to admit it but I cried when they killed them off because I wanted a new one and I have had a thing for them ever since I can remember.

I REALLY hate getting into these discussions, but I feel like saying a few things. The problem is that you are comparing an "older" f-body to a "new" sport compact. There is a difference in price obviously since there are no "new" LSX. Even if you guys do compare the suspension set up, they are VERY close to one another. The difference is the weight and gearing of the cars in my opinon. Don't get me wrong, but the MAIN reason for buying an STi is the AWD. For me presonally, it's one of the best all around cars. Living in MA it suits me much better than my old Camaro.

You get different cars for different reasons, it's hard to compare cars when they are in a different class. But some people need the 4 doors and don't want to give up the speed. It's about preference, I'm also more partial to the WS-6's.

Sti and evo that CAN run a low 13 if you risk breaking it when you launch it? Oh yeah the new 05 mustang which is a challenge for an lt1 but will still loose to a stock one? So in the price range where is the car that is knocking us down the ranks?
last time i seen the time slips on the white 05 mustang was a 13.4 bone stock. Last time I went to the track in sacramento there was an 05 running 13.1's with gears...... that 05 went faster then my friends LS1 that ran a 13.4 ... i ran a 13.4 in the ls1 too... we started getting faster but the track was closed due to rain
