Well, I bought this thing today!
Gonna make it a track/weekend car.
Maybe I'll call Gray sometime next year to put some "minor bolt-ons"..... the kind that whirr.

It's got your typical bolt-ons and it's geared. Gonna make it handle first, then I'm thinking KB.

Roll bar at first, then a cage is planned for when it's making power.

Well, I'll think about FI and/or more cubes sometime next year. Patience, patience...

I also need to think about a setup that can withstand sustained lapping instead of quick straightline runs.

Edit: What's with the server? This site used to download quickly? Now it's like ls1.com!
Eidt: Err, OK server getting better (I've never had to wait here at ls1tech with one of those "SERVER FULL" screens before!)

Welcome back Carlos!

I knew it wouldn't be long before you bought something with some potential.

If you don't mind me asking.....how much did you get it for? How many miles? Any rust? How much water does the top let in?

Rollbar, then Griggs or Steeda to address that shitty rear suspension. It can be made to work very well though. Before you spend any major bucks, Consult your SCCA rulebook if modding for an actual racecar.

Congrats on the new boy!

Paid $3500
60K miles (whatever, I don't believe anything)
Rust- no.
Water-no water damage that I know of.
Haven't seen the car yet in person. I did do a history report on it and it is a 4cyl conversion. All the components necessary to make the conversion correctly checked out (brakes, suspension, tranny, rear end, etc.).
Car has CAI, 73mm MAF, 65mm TB, GT40 Intake, Stainless Steel Shorty Headers, High Flow Cats, UD Pulleys, 1.72 Roller Rockers, Pro 5.0 Shifter, upgraded clutch, 4.10's and Auburn diff. out back.

Yeah, Rollbar, brakes, suspension- in that order. It's only gonna see lapping- no competitive racing.
Thanks for the congrats! The kid is doing great.

BTW, I decided that I needed to have a V8 powered track car. The Miatas seem fun as hell and damn cheap to run, but I need the song of V8 revs to make it a complete experience.

Congratulations, but you do know that if you can turn, you're not going fast enough right?

I used to think that way also but....
I beg to differ though. Threshold braking/double clutch downshifting from 130+mph into to a high speed chicane has been the most thrilling thing I've ever done!
