He has a solid 12 sec car, it should run close to mid 12's. I know.
The vette probably was an auto though, otherwise you probably would not of walked her that bad. Once she got up to speed, I would guess that after you pulled a couple of cars things started to even out.

That's what I'm saying. I would have expected that if we did keep running, she could have pulled back up. If it were a stick, I can see a MUCH closer race.

Just because it had a sticker in the back glass doesnt mean it was stock. Turbo cars are so easy to do simple mods to it to up boost it could have very easily been running more than stock.

I do commonly see STI's run low 13's to high 12's though with minor modifications and a driver who isn't afraid to beat it.

That's the key right there..."with a driver who isn't afraid to beat it". After the normal WRX tranny woes, most of us STi owners are weary. A tranny isn't a cheap fix!

At first I was un aware of what it was until I see the amber parking lights. At this point I was excited to see a white vette. I let it pass me, to see who was driving and if they were willing to play. To my suprise it was a cute looking 20 something female. She definatly was up for running me, since she gas the V8 some gas and flew up to the light. It had just gone red, so I pull along the side of her and await the green. I peered around to make sure there were no cops in sight! I was eager, but kept my cool waiting to see if she was going to gun it out of the whole or what. Neither of us reved, so I was awaiting her move. The light wnet green and we start off at a clip but nothind crazy. Then she mashed it, so I stand on it. She took off and had maybe a 3/4 car length on me until my boost kicked in. Well when I shifted 2nd I was dead even, then 3rd and I just walked away. All said and done I was pleased. A qucik run, but satisfying(sp).

Well my power band is from 3.5k to about 6k. I'd consider that a mid to high power band. I still don't see how a stock C5 is soooo killer. What is wrong with some people. My STi is not stock, yet some of you act like it's impossible that I could beat a vette, what's up with that?

you have less power and more weight than a stock corvette... you have AWD which helps you off the line, but doesn't help from a roll.
As someone said you have a mid 12 second car and it's all due to your AWD. From a roll your AWD is not helping at all and I still think that she wasn't trying really hard.

What is a stock vette weighing in at anyway? My estimated weight with myself in the car only comes to about 3350 or so. And what do stock C5s put down for #s? My dyno number is low for the mods I have on it also. I went to KRT which is know for having low numbers. In all reality I should be putting down somewhere around 315 give or take.

For those wondering how well his car pulls up top.
We ran from 55-100ish
I have a full bolt on full weight 228 cammed and stalled auto.
Nobody blew each others doors off. I did creep on him but not by much. Before he had to shift I probably had almost a car on him.
A stock Vette, especially an auto will not hang with him. Because I think I could eat a stock a4 vette for lunch.

HAHA,
less power. 282.5 AWD equates to a lot more than typical vettes 310ish rwd.

I'm just saying I'd be happy to run local stock C5. I'll probably get a chance when we go to the T&T at NED. Perhaps Danno can bring his camera and prove it's possible for a mildly modded STi to hang with a stock C5.

How's 285awhp is more than 310rwhp? He's loosing his power through the drivetrain and making 285awhp, vette is making 310rwhp... 285<310....
Stock vette should weigh about 3230lbs with no driver. I thought STIs were a little heavier than 3200lbs?
