Default Plane Jane

I have a 2001 z28 with exhaust and lid, and pulled 13.2 at 106 on street tires and 273 gear. I figure If I throw on some slicks and get a good dyno tune up, I'll be in the mid twelves( If rear end holds).
Also, my car is a plane jane, role up windows, no power seats, no power anything, not even an alarm. It's also a hard top car. The only option this car is missing from becoming a 1LE is the factory aluminum drive shaft. I went to the Fbody reunion in bowling green, there was a 2005 LS2 corvette running only 13.0, and a 12.9, kinda cheesy if u ask me. mabie he couldn't drive.

Just curious what 11's took in those cars. not much apparently, lol, kinda makes me want an LS1 but i dont want one with any miles on it so i am outta luck with that and will stick to my fox (which will take a few more mods to hit 11's...lol)
your car should be mid to bottom 12s as it sits, your just lacking the main ingredient that should always come before power and thats suspension. If my stock motord 5L has ran a best of 13.37@100.89 with a 1.75 60, with nothing more than shorty headers, x pipe, 4.10s, suspension and 26x10.5 et streets that car should easily run mid to bottom 12s.

i would think with the 2.73s your gonna want a bit of spin to give the RPMs a jump start. Et streets may hurt you

I keep mine under 6250=safe pushrods as to my suspension...its half ***, but it works...50/50 lakewood shocks,KYB adjsutable struts set at loosest setting,Subframes,upper/lower HD tq boxes, 4.10's, frpp strut tower brace, (coming soon, BFG drag radials) and stock springs. what more do i need?

As far as a "tune" I have read the A9L is VERY mod friendly and it would only give me 10 rwhp or so to tune it and currently it idles about like a stocker (save for the lope). So i should be good w/o a tune, no?

PS, i really dont wanna go a power adder route.

what are upper and lower heavy duty torque boxes? do you mean control arms. torque boxes are part of the car.

The stock 5.0 tq boxes are notorious for NOT being a part of the car after a few good launches...I got thicker ones and had them attatched MUCH more securely than stock spot-welds...My control arms are giving me 0 problems on 245/60/15 cooper cobras and so I am leaving them alone unless they do...dont fix what aint broke.

A blower swap is not a bolt on, neither is nitrous.

A stage III steggy port and full bolt ons with a 2.93 upper/6lb lower and you're still going to be no where near 575rwhp. Through in some cams and you'll still fall short of 575rwhp.

A 200 shot and some slicks should do it, I dont know how long your rear end will last though, but I do know know a few people at the track in the 11's with sticks that have not broke theirs yet.

My buddy adam who posts on here was running 11's with a cam and bolt ons on 17" DR's.

Also all it takes is 4.10's and a decent tire and a 96-98 Cobra will run 13.2's The 93 Cobra wont do that with just a gear swap and a tire.

Actually many have done it with DR's, gears and bolt ons only. Throw a cam in there for good measure.

Gears made a HUGE difference in how my car feels. I wonder how my old LT1 woulda felt with some 4.10's and not the 2.73's. My A4 had a HUGE hold in the powerband.
