just becuase youn haven't (yet?) had issues doesn't mean they are wrong!

Some people reckon ALL ls1's can't take any boost at all no matter what you do. Try telling the guys in the FI forum that!

what distance are you guys running over. If it's over a 1/4 mile then I say the Fbody easy. If it's under, well it could be close! With adv. Mustang.

which is my point, just because somebody says something is true doesnt mean it is. If that was the case would you believe me that a couple experts I know say ls1's break down every 5k miles?

Well like i said before I must have a bulletproof t5 then because i've missed third at 6k+ and she's still good. Then again when I miss a gear I dont hold the car wide open with the clutch out trying to force it into gear either.

the 4th gear roll over went bad in my t-5, trans would stick in 4th if it was hot. It crunched everytime i grabbed third because my clutch cable was stretched and i beat on it everyday for a whole summer and it never went bad. Lots of metal in the fluid when i drained it.

you should win. If he puts drag tires on he will kill you. My 89LX 5.slow would do 13.6's and I had to replace the trans. 3 times. Save your money. It looks like it's tranney time.

D&D recommends upgrading to something besides a t-5, if you're running low 12's or faster. The local shop charges $400 to rebuild one. If mine ever goes bad, I thought about going with the g-force gears installed at the local shop. Should cost about 1500, but it'll take anything I could throw at it.
