My buddy has an 05' Evo 8 with Buschur Racing Stage 2. Pulls about 2 cars on me from a 55 roll and holds it all the way up to 130mph. He cant launch at all though, his best 1/4 time is a 13.43 and mine a 13.42, I bust his ***** all the time about my car still being faster. These cars are not pushovers by any means.

 

****** a fast car is impressive even if it is a 4 banger... idont care what you drive.... if you disrespect a fast car because of "how" it is fast... you should come to my house so i can kick your sorry *** in the nuts..

Lol, nice run, but I can guarantee you he doesnt have $5K into it, if he did all you'd see is his taillights. A GT35R kit is about $3K and all the supporting mods maybe another $2K and that would easily put him over 500+ whp maybe even 600. First off if he has a BOV and upgraded FMIC as one of his first mods, he needs to do some research before spending money, those are the 2 worst things you can do when your car is almost stock, I bet he is losing quite a bit of power. Oh well to each their own.

Eatingstang- I didnt talk **** at all about the LS1, i just said i think its more interesting when they race each other, i have no problem with that, and i dont talk on an import forum because im not into imports except the supra.

 

Thats cool, Man yea the 5k was a over the top estimate, But I know he has dropped some cheese into it. Dragframe- noone is desrespecting any fast cars all I said I like a challenge to make my car fast not just bolt up some spray or something anyone can do that.

 

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but from a dig an evo 8 is more than enough competition for a bolt on ls1. If this was from a 40-50 mph roll and the evo was stock then thats another thing but still with a few bolt ons (K&N, headers, catback) I would only beat my buddies stock 03 evo MR by max 3 cars from a dead stop to about 120 mph. From a roll id edge him by a little more but by no means is a properly drive evo not competition for a bolt on ls1. Now with srt-4's they are a little underpowered stock but a modded one is a whole different story. My best friends 04 srt-4 put down 365 whp with a .50 trim turbo, turboback, tune, wga, tune, etc and that thing pulls so hard, it can walk away from my z28 fairly easily. No need to apolgize though as it again is your own opinion, but most of the turboed 4-cylinders out there nowadays are no joke.

 

yeah, i got beat this weekend at the rtack by my buddys evo 8 and the thing is i took him off the line and he didnt catch me until 4th gear, on the other hand, ive raced evos, stis, and srt-4s on 95 and beaten them top-end. thier is no telling what can beat what these days ive been stomped by those same vehicles from a 60-mile role so dont generalize like i used too and say that those turbo tuners are all off-the-line power but no top end, i had to learn the hard way!
P.S. spanked an sti this weekend on I-95 on my way to the track!!!!! Just thought i would throw that in thier!!!

Those Turbo 4 cylinder cars are only winning cause you f-body guys are heavy as hell. You gotta throw that motor in the 2400-2700 lb rx7. No hate towards the f-body its just big and heavy which is why I got the sweet engine but a different chassis.

Thanks man. Yea my buddy actually just put a 5.0 in his old 3rd gen rx-7 its pretty bad ***, I tried talking him to putting an ls1 in it but he didnt have the money.

 

F-Bodies are average weight these days. Lightening makes them 3400LBS or so. And honstly the weight can help on traction.

Now your not even thinking, this is EXACTLY why real tuners get laughed at by domestic guys 80% of the time. You should take it as a compliment that he's counting a 4 cyl as a worthy opponent.
