it varies. but no matter what method is used, i say it should be up to the neutral flagger, and he/she explains the method to the involved parties(drivers, car owners, crew, neutral money holder, etc) BEFORE the race so there is no chance for misunderstanding. that way it keeps one person from getting a race started the way they like it or in their advantage. imo its the most fairest way of starting, vice someone with a full sized practice christmas tree, which i have seen before, BTW.

What if the guy sneezes while his hands are up? Slightest movement can go from finger twitching to the whole arm. I think it varies and it should've just been a 3 honk run to begin with. From your side. That way you couldn't point fingers on who launched first or who didn't. it's all on the third honk.

3 honks are for roll races and high school students. but if you're serious, you can't go wrong with posts #10,11,14,18,and 22.

The best is heads up, hoods shut, running off a light. Also memorize this saying, "I'm slow, I'm stock, and I need land."

That's why a chase is a race.

In my town, we line up the cars. The flagger lets both cars rev up and get ready. When they flash their high beams it means they are ready, put the hands up, as soon as you see them drop, you go.

Do you want to race? I could take you and anyone on this board Yes the most important is that a chase is a race reffering the the thread in the link. Its easiest just to go to a drag strip when the lights arent up. Although the adrenaline isnt like your first **** at the track, but the street can be. try and get as many spots as you can and try and get the hit. LOL... Just dont make rediculous handicaped races.. 30 spots anyone?

not sure of the rules in your state, but these are the rules in ohio

http://onlinedocs.andersonpublishing...h=1&2.0#LPHit1

[§ 4511.25.1] § 4511.251. Street racing.

(A) As used in this section and section 4510.036 [4510.03.6] of the Revised Code, "street racing" means the operation of two or more vehicles from a point side by side at accelerating speeds in a competitive attempt to out-distance each other or the operation of one or more vehicles over a common selected course, from the same point to the same point, wherein timing is made of the participating vehicles involving competitive accelerations or speeds. Persons rendering assistance in any manner to such competitive use of vehicles shall be equally charged as the participants. The operation of two or more vehicles side by side either at speeds in excess of prima-facie lawful speeds established by divisions (B)(1)(a) to (B)(7) of section 4511.21 of the Revised Code or rapidly accelerating from a common starting point to a speed in excess of such prima-facie lawful speeds shall be prima-facie evidence of street racing.

(B) No person shall participate in street racing upon any public road, street, or highway in this state.

(C) Whoever violates this section is guilty of street racing, a misdemeanor of the first degree. In addition to any other sanctions, the court shall suspend the offender's driver's license, commercial driver's license, temporary instruction permit, probationary license, or nonresident operating privilege for not less than thirty days or more than three years. No judge shall suspend the first thirty days of any suspension of an offender's license, permit, or privilege imposed under this division.

smokinhawk, streetracing is illegal in Ohio? sucks for you all. its legal everywhere else. so your rules don't apply here. start a new thread and stay out of this one if you don't have anything useful to say.

2. you chase you race- if somebody jumps you out of the hole and you go after them anyway, but can't catch them- YOU STILL LOST! shouldn't have chased them. if it is for $ you still lost and you better pay. if you get jumped simply DON'T GO.

3. don't snitch- if anything bad happens you don't know anything, take that **** to the grave with you

4. look out for other people- so nobody gets caught. if you see somebody lined up and you know a cop is hiding, flash them and honk the horn and scream at them etc... i'd want the same done for me if a cop is lurking and i don't know about it.

that's about it in my book

lmfao @ www.thefastandthefurious.com
forgot two rules....

no weaving in and out of traffic!

If you win, no slowing with the flashers, a simple few brake taps a few times will give the hint!

I would add "Use spotters at both ends whenever possible."
And "Avoid traffic."

Seriously the only really good street racing I have seen is just on some west bumfuck road in the middle of nowhere with people at both ends. No three honking, clear finish, nobody dies except the people who made the choice to race. And the fact of course that you dont get caught half so often as you do in city traffic LOL.

Oh yeah, and nothing is cheating in terms of power adders unless they specificly said they would not use it. I hate that 'yeah but if you were'nt spraying...' or 'if you did not have a xxxxxcharger...' BS. Run what ya brung baby.
