Default Modded GT3

Going to the local meet a couple days ago and as I was going down the highway in the WS6, caught a glimpse of a Yellow GT3 getting on the on-ramp right behind me. It had an aftermarket road racing wing, and also appeared lowered. The exhaust was loud as hell, and I didnt hear a turbo. So naturally, i kinda slow down and wait till the guy is next to me, and then goose it to see if he'll play. Well the dude just nails it and does a ricer flyby So i go after him, and we finally get on it at the same time from a 3rd gear roll (guy wouldnt slow under 85). We were dead even until we shut it down at about 130. Impressive for a 6....I just want to know what was done to it.

The GT3 is non-turbo, 381 N/A horsepower, 2wd, lightweight, track ready version of the Carrera(for anyone who's wondering). GT2 is the turbo 2wd version of the 911Turbo.

Awesome run man, what are your mods? He may have been stock, those things are pretty loud as is, maybe chipped, hard to say.

Very nice.

I'll bet he wanted that punch speed because it put him in a real sweet spot for his aggressive gearing.

From a dig would likely be a great drivers race too.

He was probably stock or really close to it, those cars are pretty damn quick for N/A 6 bangers in stock form, though as some one stated, they are made for the track. Either way, it sounds like a good run

Is it a lot faster than a carerra S? Cause my buddy has a 02 camaro 6 speed with 4.10s small cam, slp long tub headers and gutted cats, putting out around 365whp raced a carrera S on the highway (where it should be strongest) there were three of us in the car and no passengers in the carrera S and we owned it HARD!! even at 100+

As we said the S is for slow

My buddies car is pretty quick but its been beaten from a roll by a turbo civic and a toyota tercel HAHA we never did get to find out what that tercel had done to it but we were sworn to oath that we would never tell anyone about it... ohh well wooops

Alot? That's relative, but it is faster than a Carrera S...did you race a 996 or a 997? Either way you're talking several hunderd pounds less and a few dozen more horespower.

Just to add, the new 911 GT3 will have OVER 400hp with a revised version of the 3.6L flat six, wow!

it was a 997. I dont know if you guys have noticed but the 997 carrera S has massive tires in the back for the amount of hp its puttin out

Not really. The car is rear engined, the rear tire size is more for proper handling balance than it is for off the line grip.

Good kill though.
