So either he's full of ****, can't drive, or both. LT1s are not slow, contrary to what you may believe. They have the same potential as an old school gen 1 350, and the same potential as your LS1 motor.

The ones around here run mid-low 11's at best. Those are the race cars.

I kinda looked at him, I was like. "Why do you have a cage?"

He thought it ran 11's before we raced. Something had to of been wrong with it, untuned or something. Kills a kill.

I beat a heads/cam/stalled/sprayed trans am on D/R's by about 4 cars from a dig, does that mean LS1's suck? I dont think so.

My opti has 121,000 miles on it as does the water pump! (new ones coming for the race season) LT1s are very stout motors, For petes sake, there are ******* SBCs they will run forever! I love my LT1, it has nice low end grunt and the mods are coming!
Oh yeah my LS1 ain't no slack either!

my stock opti lasted 119k the 2nd one lasted ten minutes, on my 3rd now with about 5k on it. The design is great the location is retarded.

I take it you're running regular OEM optisparks (I'm unaware if autoparts place carries optisparks in the GP soresen flavor)??? Unvented correct? I agree that the unvented ones suck major *****, but the vented ones do seem to have a higher success rate..

Correct, however you can get a reman from Advance Auto Part for cheap and they do offer a lifetime warranty on them. I guess if you have a good cap and rotor that might work, but Im kinnda leary on a reman. but these non-vented optis are even more expensive the the vented. If I lose another I will get the newer cover and upgrade to the vented.
