Default 5.0 vs. 350

I raced LS1tech.com member Joewee350 in his S10 (with modded 350 crate motor, 2500 stall TH350, as I understand)
We posted it on another forum and his post was more detailed than mine as I were in a hurry, so here is his version, which I stand behind.

Race number one from a dig. We got to a redlight but it was slightly in a curve. We were discussing if we would race from that particular light...I said yes. We both looked up and the light turned green. Without stalling up my truck or him getting ready we went off. I eased into the gas and then floored it, peeling out and going sideways. To my surprise I pulled ahead by many car lengths. Stanger88 bogged at the light and couldnt catch back up. 1 win for me.

Race number two from a 20-25 roll. We were side by side and I pointed and asked if he was ready. He assumed I was saying go so he punched it. He pulled one length before I could get into the gas. I followed and caught up, my front sitting at his rear tire. It held there until we let off at 100-105. Stanger88 and I agree on that one being a tie since he jumped the start and we stayed pretty much even to 100ish.

I agree with all that was posted. Very nice runs. We will try it again once you get your carb swap and short belt mod and I get new plugs, shocks, reset rocker arms, and fix an oil leak. Once again....great runs.

I guess I need to spray 150 shot or bolt on a supercharger or turbo setup to get any attention with my races. No love for the slow 13 second crowd.

Hrmmm, Stock LT1's dont worry me in the least, LS1's on the other hand from a roll will be a driver's race I think (in F-body form, not C5, raced one and he slowly creeped on me). But I wont lie, i suck at driving from a dig b/c i get nervouse and the ol' jelly clutch leg takes over, lol.
