The baddest street race I ever saw was between a '55 Chev and a '70 T/A with giggle juice back in '76. The 55 spotted the T/A 10 cars and the hit, stalled and killed it on the launch, refired and freakin' jumped down the track for the win. I was standing 10 feet behind the Chev and I've never seen a street car launch that hard or turn that many R's. The guy in the 55 NEVER raced but always came out to the spot (Rankin Rd.). This was the only time I ever saw him run. Seriously fast car.

My friend actually witnessed a fox body mustang pulling a wheel stand on the street. Said he tried to catch up and ask him what he had but there was no way in hell his modded F150 would do it (385# rw tq at 2400 rpm...not bad for a 351W).
