Something isn't right

Thats what I am saying...

why would you run stock turbos and a FMIC, you lose power that way.

Why do you say that? A FMIC will bring in cooler air...

Becuase its more efficent that a stock side mount. The stock turbos have broke into the 11's.

Or C) A big single with no/$h!tty tune and an owner who cannot drive/keep it in boost (it's not like that's a rare occurrence).

There are a few stock turbos running 10's on boost alone and several running 10's with nitrous actually. There are several stock twin turbo cars running front mount intercoolers. They are more efficient than the stock sidemounts and are proven to make more power. He could have been a single turbo on low boost and pump gas but I dont think so.

To begin with the hatters. What mods he had I have no idea I wasn't going to stop in the middle of the dessert with over 105 deg. weather just to ask what mods he had. I typed what I saw, heard and happend. Was he messing with me? Who knows..What exact mods he had? don't know either.. Am I a good driver? ****!! guess not. My cousin was with me and he had another passenger himself. I doubt he had it tuned cau's when he deceleretaded, black smoke would start pouring out of his exhaust. The only reason that I posted this run was to get some help and suggestions. If you think is bullshit, why reply to the post? Go on to the next.

Not hating here. I love the LS1's, so keep modding and keep trying! As for the sound of the turbo and not to take away from your run, but if it was a big single, you would definitely know it.

There is a guy around here who I swore had a single turbo because the damn thing was so loud. Turns out hes still on stock twins. I highly doubt that car you raced a single. Most BPU ones Ive seen with FMICs, exhaust are over 400rwhp and would whoop *** on a light bolt on LS1 or LT1 with no problem, ESPECIALLY from a highway roll.

True. I raced and beat in my old vette was a right hand drive supra with stock turbo's and nitrous. The car was at the track the following week going 10.90's. No slouch.

Not necessarily, especially if it weighed 300#-400# more, unless, of course it was really more like 450+rwhp and "frum roll" in it's sweet spot.

Fastest Car I have ever been in was a Supra that wasn't even running right. I raced the same car when it was running right and well, it was just stupid. I have never seen a car pull that hard on me before.

Very, very nice!

... with that kind of trap speed though, I'm very surprised you haven't come close to reaching nine's yet.

This isn't a V8. Turbo cars pull harder up top.

When I ran a 10.75 the car only trapped 124 mph. I was only on 5 cylinders. I lost a bearing in the #4 cylinder due to oil starvation because of a clogged oil cooler. The car should be trapping about 140+ when its back up in a week or so. I expect to do low 10's high 9's. The car runs drag radials only with a full interior in full show trim.

Not to start a war here, but I fail to see the relevance. My cousins Grand National has a couple of things in common with the 2JZ (six cylinder, turbo) and he runs low tens, and traps in the low 12x's. Yes, I'm sure his 3.8 is making more torque down low, but that is a pretty sweet trap speed (referring to the 132mph trap)...

I'm glad you didn't take my post the wrong way, as you're Supra is very impressive. I was just a little suprised to see such an incredible trap... resulting in a high 10 second timeslip.

Oh, I definetly know this, but the Supra doesn't quite make that torque, even though I love Supras. And BTW, how did he trap low 12X's, and run low 10's? Is that a 9 second car that let off?
