I remember when I had my first stang it was a 97 GT auto at that.. I thought it was fast as hell with the loud exhaust system I had on it. Since it was my first stand I didn't really know any better and I haven't ever raced any car that was fast. Well I got my *** handed to me one day by a TA on the hwy and I though this thing wasn't all that fast, just loud as hell.. Then I got whooped by a Lightning bad, Well that car didn't last but 2 months later untill I bought my Mach, Once I test drove it I new I had to have it. This being my 2nd stang and had so much more power the the Auto GT that I once thougt was fast, I just new I had to have it.. I think I scared the sales men **** less, hammering on it up to about 130 on the hwy.. The first race I got into was with a WS6 just 2 days after I bought it, we raced down the street about 5 times and both of us were very close, I won some he won some, So I new then that this car had some ***** in it.. A month later I took it to the track to see how fast it really was.. I uses a set of 26x8.5x15 et drags from a friend of mine and pulled off a 8.11@84.94mph.. That was great because once of my friends was talking **** saying how he could whoop my *** and what not in his modded 2K GT.... He didn't have much so say after that.. His best was only a 9.0 that night.. Since then I had the bug to build it up fast and better..

By the way (for those wanting to call BS after reading that link) this was not the same guy. Black Mach1 versus loud LS1 (My Loudmouth), multiple runs on a highway, creepy similair but this guy posted his Friday night, my runs were Saturday night, and his location is "Stoughton" not sure if that is a real place but if it is it's no where near Enid, OK

I still had to go to the site and add my 2 cents...

The coolest feature with the Mach 1 (IMO) is the shaker hood.

Now that would be sweet...

Nice runs! It makes you wonder if maybe there are more cool mustang owners out there. Seriously though good kills and deaths.

Nice kill story.

I'd have to say it's as close as you could imagine between an LS1 and a mach.

Me and a buddy of mine (01 Z28) raced back when I was bone stock and he had a K&N and flows welded in. We ran numerous times and except for when one of us would spin it was dead even. I'm talking I got the jump on him by a foot and by about 110 I still had about a foot on him and vice versa.

Nice kill!

The Mach 1 is a pretty quick car, coming down to drivers race most of the time for similarilly modded ls1's It's basically the same car as the 01 cobra, but with a solid rear and with a few extra horsepower to the wheels from drivetrain and better breathing. I think the IRS causes a loss of another 5% in the 01 svt from what i read few years ago when guys were starting to change ot the IRS for solid axle.

I would hang with most ls1's I ran across on the streets with my cobra up intil about 80, after that they would start walking me generally. I would pull out a few kills cause I could drive the **** out of that thing and sometimes they couldn't
