Default Ran a GTO...

Heading down the beltway yesterday a black gto with paper plates came up beside me for alittle fun. We took off around 70mph and I was actually able to pull on him. It appeared the higher the speeds the more I pulled. I really thought I would lose at those speeds considering the power difference. Anyway it was a sweet ride and I had a good time.

What yours ***, 100 shot and still high 12's. 407 rwhp and still high 12's. What a joke.

BTW it runs like that in the heat and on stock tires.

N20 and DR's are going on soon too, Stank.

Your not the sharpest tool in the shed, are ya?

I ran the 12.69 with a Cold Air and cats removed on factory tires no nitrous. On the nitrous I went 11.63@117mph.

I went a little over 2 tenths faster than you with 100hp less, 1500ft worse DA air and with a manual transmission (me driving it, not just pushing a gas pedal).

Like I said, you're one to be making claims that LS2 KLRs post is BS.

CATS removed, cold air. My GTO was bone stock.

BTW a little sharper than you, spoon.

Love to race ya, once the N20 is on the GTO.

2003 Mach 1, Cold Air kit, Mac Prochamber, Nitrous kit and a nitrous tune. Every other component on the car is at it came from the factory.

With ET Streets, car went 12.56@107.42 in -600ft DA air on motor. In the same DA air with the 100 shot, it went 11.63@117.3mph. Car's raceweight is 3640.

Car now has a 150shot on it and I don't have any times in good air. In 2048ft DA air with the 150 shot, the car went 11.63@118.79mph. In better air, it should run 11.3x @ 120+.

With long tube headers, a catback, lighter wheels and some mild weight reduction, the car would go high 10s. A 200 shot might do it too, but I am not ready to push the stock engine yet.

Could have been an 04 with the LS1. Also if his car is the one in sig and he sprayed of course he would win, especially if it was an LS1 car.

I didn't spray as it wouldn't have been any fun. I was curious to see how I would fair na on the top end. It was a new car with dual exhaust and scoops so I'm pretty sure it was an ls2. I have also lightened up my car 100lbs+ so that definately helped.

I guess giving my numbers would help.
325/350 na
540/650 gas

Well if those are you numbers its possible. As Dyno numbers on a GTO wil be 340 -350 rwhp. And total race weight depending on the amount of gas and driver weight is anywhere from 3900 - 4050 lbs.

DAAAAAMMMNNN!!! Those Machs are stout! Stock for stock (from my experiance with one) they are dead even with a LS1, but they seem to really respond well to mods. Everyone talks about how much an LS1 responds to bolt-ons (and they do) but shaving around half a second off ETs with just a CAI and exhoust upgrade, that's pretty wild.

I'm asuming that since you can get an ET like that you must be able to bang some gears, so I'm just guessing that you could probably pull about a 13 flat in stock trim. Do you have any numbers when you were stock?

I never ran the car bone stock with factory tires, but I did mount a set of ET Streets on it and had a K&N air filter and went 12.70@107.14mph. The intake tubing, silencer, etc, was all in tact.

Here's a video of that run: http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...53407d4729.htm

Believe me, when I ran that time, I was floored. I was not expecting the car to perform that well. I was honestly expecting a 12.99 if the planets were aligned

Those N/A numbers would have a stock GTO covered, unless it was some factory freak.

GTOs have 2 MAJOR things against them. 1 being they weigh 3800 pounds. 2 and most importantly, they have BAAAAAAD heat soak issues. I mean the difference when my car is cold to when its hot is a easily feelable 50-70 hp difference, its ridiculous. It goes from getting sideways at half throttle to barely being to bark them if you rev and drop the the clutch. And Im not exagerating.
