Man, This really makes me reconsider street racing. I could only imagine how the driver of that Cobra feels right now. God, RIP.

No one can speak with a 100% accuracy on this accident yet. Doesn't look like anyone knows what really happend yet.

All I'll say is if they were racing on that street in the video then they all got what they deserved, period.

If not, then it's a tragic situation.

That sucks but honestly with situations like that I feel bad for anyone that wasnt racing and hurt in an accident like that and for anyones family members that are affected by the deaths, but I feel ZERO pity for any of the racers who were injured. Some people may think that is cold hearted but when your street racing those are the chances you take and if you crash thats the risk of street racing. If I were going 100+ mph on a public road and crashed and died I wouldnt expect anyone to feel sorry for me because racing like that isnt safe. Its like waking up once a week with a revolver and playing Russian Roulette, eventually it will catch up to you. I also know there are plenty of street racers on this forum that regular race to speeds 120 mph+ and Id hate to see anything happen to any of them but honestly doing stuff like that is just gambling with your life and if you choose to do so then the consequences of dying are quite real...end rant

Im from where the accident happened and they were racing. A person that lives right down the road from the accident ran out because he heard a loud bang and saw kevin laying on the ground and the mustang ripped apart. (Kevin must have died instantly) He heard the camaro driver telling the police that he lost control of his car and hit the mustang.

Sadly, the passenger in the mustang (kevin) was the camaro owners best friend and his roomate...

No one deserves a fate like that.
Thats like saying someone who doesnt wear a helmet on a bike deserves to fall off.
Most of us have all raced here or there on the street, so don't tell me we all deserve the same fate. Thats pretty ignorant.
People take risks just driving their cars.

These are reminders to us guys on what kind of machines we really own, and its up to us to do it as safely as we can.

Driving your car is always a risk.

Exceeding posted speeds in locations/conditions not safely designed for such activities is inherently an exponentially greater risk and one should expect exponentially greater possiblilites of being hurt/killed associated with that risk.

I doubt the mustang driver would have faired any better had he hit the pole head on.

The changes of a racing accident are NOTHING compared to getting hit by a drunk driver or someone falling asleep behind the wheel.

A week ago my friend (EMT-B on his way to Paramedic class) locked his brakes as a car coming at him went acrossed the center and slammed headon at 45mph into the car in front of him.

Being on a Fire Department I can tell you right now it happens more than people would think.

I couldn't agree more. No one deserves a fate like that. It truly is ignorant for someone to say he deserved it. Were typing on a street racing forum, i think most of us race...(or have at one time)

Most of us {subconciously<sp?>} feel invincible, the "It won't happen to me" idea..
I have seen more and more "In loving memory of.." stickers than I care to, road racing, road rage, whatever..No one Deserves death .. No One thats a permant solution to a temporary problem someone once said. I have raced a few times, driven faster than I should here and there...and God help me ... I said the same damn thing to my wife not long ago.. Hell I am careful etc..
I wanted to cry when I watched this.. So young...So damn young...Such a tragic and sad thing.. My heart goes out to all that will feel the loss.
I just promised my family that I will NOT race on the street again..
And she said that goin to the track was ok .. even if I *break ***** it's ok..
I hope some of you see that and think twice about ripping down the road..Imagine if you took out someones wife, child, dad etc.. could you live with the thought of it ?
Not me man.. Not me.

I've seen to many people locally get in accidents/killed from jacking off on public roads and IMO (and you may not like it) if they were indeed racing they do derserve every bit of what happend.

Yea most of us have streetraced before. I'm actually all for controlled/organized streetracing, been doing for 6+ yrs and have friends that have been doing it 20+. When it's done correctly with some god damn sense nothing generally happens. You hear from people like that all of the time, they post online, videos, etc. The one's that don't know what real streetracing is are the ones you read about in situations like this. When the ****'s done right there's not much more risk at all then there is when at a track. When at the track everyone takes just about every precaution you can to be safe, if you're going to streetrace you should do the same.

Personally I never feel invincible. One time I was riding with this moron who was driving with 2 cell phones at night on winding mountain roads. Yes. Two. He was comparing numbers or something.

I thought I was screwed. Never would have riden with that guy had I known. Very religious. Weird.

I dunno about deserving to crash or not feeling bad for them. Most people do something blatantly stupid all the time. Drive drunk. Cheat. Drugs. Work with live wires. No smoke detector. Smoke. Talk trash to people who may or may not be armed.

I do get more pissed at reckless street racing when it endangers others. That not just stupid, its immoral. But I still feel bad for them.

The reason the cobra split so easily is cause it hit a completly solid concrete pole. It would have fucked up an 18 wheeler if it had hit that thing

Do you just not read posts? What is with this *IF* they were racing crap you keep saying??? I just said two posts ago that they were racing and the camaro owner said he was. Do you think the person driving lied to the police and just said he was racing for fun??? Get over it, they were racing...

Also, you need to really think about what your saying. So, you think just because he was racing and got into an accident, it's his fault and he got what he deserved? (wtf) What is really funny is that you said you have been street racing for 6+ years. Controlled/organized street racing??? What? If your racing on the street, your racing on the f*cking street, it doesn't matter. There is no control. Your no better than the two people that wrecked. First of all, it doesn't matter that this was a controlled race or not. Other cars were not involed, so that takes out the "controlled/organized" part. The camaro lost control of his car, which could happen to anyone. Someones tire could blow out and he could slam into you. Then, your car could flip 6 or 7 times...So much for the controlled street racing environment you think is perfectly fine.

I can't get over this line. "The one's that don't know what real streetracing is are the ones you read about in situations like this."

You really need to get a clue...Controlled streetracing, you've got to be kidding me... Because you have every bit of control when your racing the driver besides you. (which is exactly what happened to the mustang...)

Unhappy

Death is a disgusting thing. An enemy that I'll lose against someday.

I'm lucky that I've had the trip, I've seen how short this life is. Sorry to see someone else go so early.

My thoughts are with his family... I'm sure they're devastated.

You guys be careful out there. ~Joshua

actually mike(the guy driving the camaro) says they WEREN'T racing and mohammed(the guy in the cobra) says mike's SS hit a part of the road that causes cars to bottom out(and complaints have been filed MULTIPLE times BEFORE this wreck, especially from guys on bikes), when he hit it, he hit the cobra sending it into the pole, both drivers say they were doing 60mph roughly a witness said they were racing and the two admitted to racing A FEW LIGHTS BACK, but had already WELL slowed down and were simply cruising beside each other, you guys act like this is the first mustang to split in half from a direct side impact, do the research... As far as what happened during the wreck, quit reading the local news and get the facts straight, you think the media will NOT make this sound like street racing go bad? 2 V8 cars, cruising beside each other, a crash, oh yeah it HAS to be street racing, couldn't POSSIBLY be 2 friends, uhh, cruising together?

also as bad as this is going to sound, if he had been wearing a seat belt, he would PROBABLY still be alive...
