deadly racing
All I'll say is if they were racing on that street in the video then they all got what they deserved, period.
If not, then it's a tragic situation.

Sadly, the passenger in the mustang (kevin) was the camaro owners best friend and his roomate...
Thats like saying someone who doesnt wear a helmet on a bike deserves to fall off.
Most of us have all raced here or there on the street, so don't tell me we all deserve the same fate. Thats pretty ignorant.
People take risks just driving their cars.

These are reminders to us guys on what kind of machines we really own, and its up to us to do it as safely as we can.
Like at the local track.

Exceeding posted speeds in locations/conditions not safely designed for such activities is inherently an exponentially greater risk and one should expect exponentially greater possiblilites of being hurt/killed associated with that risk.
I doubt the mustang driver would have faired any better had he hit the pole head on.

A week ago my friend (EMT-B on his way to Paramedic class) locked his brakes as a car coming at him went acrossed the center and slammed headon at 45mph into the car in front of him.
Being on a Fire Department I can tell you right now it happens more than people would think.

I have seen more and more "In loving memory of.." stickers than I care to, road racing, road rage, whatever..No one Deserves death .. No One thats a permant solution to a temporary problem someone once said. I have raced a few times, driven faster than I should here and there...and God help me ... I said the same damn thing to my wife not long ago.. Hell I am careful etc..
I wanted to cry when I watched this.. So young...So damn young...Such a tragic and sad thing.. My heart goes out to all that will feel the loss.
I just promised my family that I will NOT race on the street again..
And she said that goin to the track was ok .. even if I *break ***** it's ok..
I hope some of you see that and think twice about ripping down the road..Imagine if you took out someones wife, child, dad etc.. could you live with the thought of it ?
Not me man.. Not me.

I've seen to many people locally get in accidents/killed from jacking off on public roads and IMO (and you may not like it) if they were indeed racing they do derserve every bit of what happend.
Yea most of us have streetraced before. I'm actually all for controlled/organized streetracing, been doing for 6+ yrs and have friends that have been doing it 20+. When it's done correctly with some god damn sense nothing generally happens. You hear from people like that all of the time, they post online, videos, etc. The one's that don't know what real streetracing is are the ones you read about in situations like this. When the ****'s done right there's not much more risk at all then there is when at a track. When at the track everyone takes just about every precaution you can to be safe, if you're going to streetrace you should do the same.
I thought I was screwed. Never would have riden with that guy had I known. Very religious. Weird.
I dunno about deserving to crash or not feeling bad for them. Most people do something blatantly stupid all the time. Drive drunk. Cheat. Drugs. Work with live wires. No smoke detector. Smoke. Talk trash to people who may or may not be armed.
I do get more pissed at reckless street racing when it endangers others. That not just stupid, its immoral. But I still feel bad for them.

Also, you need to really think about what your saying. So, you think just because he was racing and got into an accident, it's his fault and he got what he deserved? (wtf) What is really funny is that you said you have been street racing for 6+ years.
Controlled/organized street racing??? What? If your racing on the street, your racing on the f*cking street, it doesn't matter. There is no control. Your no better than the two people that wrecked. First of all, it doesn't matter that this was a controlled race or not. Other cars were not involed, so that takes out the "controlled/organized" part. The camaro lost control of his car, which could happen to anyone. Someones tire could blow out and he could slam into you. Then, your car could flip 6 or 7 times...So much for the controlled street racing environment you think is perfectly fine.
I can't get over this line. "The one's that don't know what real streetracing is are the ones you read about in situations like this."
You really need to get a clue...Controlled streetracing, you've got to be kidding me...
Because you have every bit of control when your racing the driver besides you.
(which is exactly what happened to the mustang...)
I'm lucky that I've had the trip, I've seen how short this life is. Sorry to see someone else go so early.
My thoughts are with his family... I'm sure they're devastated.
You guys be careful out there. ~Joshua
also as bad as this is going to sound, if he had been wearing a seat belt, he would PROBABLY still be alive...
