WS6 - vs - GTO Finally got me a good race today. Its been a while. Kinda long, Enjoy.
I was on my way to meet up with Dave(LOHRTBT) on lunch so he could hear my exhaust. I left the Quicktrip at Pine/Mingo & passed a yellow GTO waiting to pull out. It was very clean w/tinted windows & black wheels w/polished lips. So I shot him a rev as I rolled by.
To my suprise he bit on it & pulled out. He had to wait to get behind me at the light at Pine/Memorial. We turned & headed up Memorial toward Admiral. As soon as I turned I heard him get in it, so I knew there was gonna be no honks or anything.
I stuck it good & stayed in it. I hear this whine comin up from behind me & its from the GTO. So now I'm thinkin GREAT, he is supercharged, its over. Threw the next gear we were basically bumper to bumper. I shift into third & he misses a shift & I immediately jump out by 2 cars & let out.
He came by & slowed down to talk. He had to have been in his 50's with a big grin on his face. I asked him what he had done & he smiled really big & said "Supercharged".
I told him I pretty much already knew by hearing the whine, just wanted to see if he would be honest about it. I told him my mods & we gave eachother a thumbs up. He busted a u-turn & we went our seperate ways.
I know if he had not missed a gear I would have been toast, but it was still a good little run. It was cool that he was so cool about it & honest about his mods.
