LT1 F-bodies and 99-04 Mustang GTs are pretty close stock vs. stock, and the F-body's age sometimes gets the better of it in those contests. I would like to get a good run against an LS1 F-body just to see how bad I lose, and then get 4.10s, a tune, and some DRs and see how much better that makes it

Edit: BTW I have a bolt on '01 GT 5spd

There are 9 second Mustang GT's prowling the streets here. That's
plenty of car to embarrass the **** out of almost everyone on the street.

Default Lt1

A good running Lt1 can still see the better side of 140+ just takes a little longer to get there.

And with high hp cars going head to head on a non-prepped surface, THAT is the problem.

96-98 GT will do about 135-140mph stock (I had a '98, and I know this)... 99-04 is limited to 148mph, and the 5spds will get to that speed (I own an '01, and I know this as well). For God's sake people... an Integra Type R will do 143mph. I can understand this being a F-body website and all, but to think a 99-04 GT will only do 135-140mph is pure ignorance.

While I get what your saying..... 8 MPH DOESNT MATTER IN THE TOP END. I'm not talking about 1/4 mile racings so dont gimme this trap speed crap of 8mph difference not mattering. If your ina street race, either your going to whip *** to 135, or get your *** whipped to 135 the ONLY time this would matter is if someone wanted to race to 148+...and honestly how many times have you been challeged to race up to above even 140?

Basically it doenst matter if you have a 135 or 148 top speed...you still own a ford.

Look first of all this coversation is just to pass the time.I let my bro law drive the mustang 99 model and I would drive the 93 z, we would get on the beltway and start down at a 20mph roll, the mustang would jump out in front cause it was 5 speed and hold the lead till about 90 mph then the z would pass the stang and pull at least 3cars before it was all said and done. The thing is while the z was still pulling after 145 mph the stang would only pull to 138 and after that it wouldn't pull past that.I guess I have lemon.Don't take it so serious I don't mean to offend anyone.
