supercharged notch?
Last night me and my wife were coming home when i see a black(looked to be 88,89 or 90 not sure)mustang behind me.The car had 2 gauges on the hood in front of the driver, skinnys up front, and huge meats on the back.well,we ended up next to each other at a light.
while sitting there i could hear a loud whistle sound coming from his car and thought,"turbo".well, light goes green and we creep out till 5-10mph and i hear him goose it.So i in turn floor it and hook and pulled the **** out of him. While im doing that i look in my rear view to see him smoking his tires and going sideways all over the place.
When i let off and he came next to me i asked him if it had a turbo he smiled and said it was supercharged.we then hit it from about 30 i think and his car was so loud i expected him to just fly right past me(really ******* loud) but we were even untill we let off for traffic(really quick run). Now i dont know how fast these cars are or what else he had done but it was gutted and looked like a fast drag car

My friend (Mach1 on here) had a nasty '83 hatchback with a built 351W in it... car would run right with h/c/i LS1s on motor... and then there was also the nitrous if need be. Sprayed everything from a 100 shot to a 250 shot, I do believe. That car was SICK.

Nice kill bro, those Fox's, especially coupes, can be a death trap. He probably has major traction issues on the street (dont we all LOL). I would love to build a gutted notchback to go roam around in, that would be awesome.

My next project is going to be a notch. The 87-93 fox's are what the '57 chevy once was; cheap, simple, unlimited aftermarket and it doesn't take a lot of effort to get them to move, they kind of look like a shoebox too.

Sounds like you had some nice runs, got to love a good race like that!
You got to watch them Fox bodies. The worst *** stomping I have recieved yet was by a black GT 'Vert. Guy was too far ahead for me to ask what he had, and I'm not afraid to say I was a little embarresed also.
Closest run I have yet (that wasn't a loss) was to a 347 GT hatch. It was the true meaning of "inched out"
I agree with silverstang, it would be nice to take an old fox-body, ditch the insides, drop a forged 351, and spray the crap out of it.
cammed 5.0s sound amazing also.
Again, good kills and runs man. I bet that last one got the old heart ticking fast.

I am currently building a gutted 1989 Notchback, dart block 4.125 bore stroked to 427 cubic inch, billet crank, billet rods, low compression Ross pistons, stage 3 R series heads Flow 360Cfm. Twin T76's I am hoping to max out the dyno where I get my car tuned. the car also has a 12 point cage going in. sorry just thought I share my story.

My 89 5.0 went 12.8@108 with gears exhaust and an 8psi Vortech. Added TFS heads, cam, ported GT-40, 10psi-12psi pulley and a C4 and it went 10.90@124 on the stock block. A lot of fun/cheap for the dragstrip.

yeah a decent h/c with a d1 or so is an animal in one of those notches.a friend of mine also has a notch that had a rebuilt stock bottom end,tfs h/c setup with a d1 that put down 500 rw and light as they are that is a strong combo.

those cars can be pretty nuts.
you can have a stock looking/sounding fox running 10s or a stock looking nasty-ish sounding fox run 9s on 17" DR's.
You really never know what you're going to get with them. Doesn't take much for them to run in the 12s (gears, slicks, exhaust) and not much at all to dip into the 10s. They're light, hook in dirt, and are cheap as **** to mod (built motor/trans/rear/power adder for 10K including car).
I hate to say it but they sound WAY better than a sbc too.

The friend I mentioned that had the fast '83 351W is currently building a Windsor-based 408, and he's gonna twin turbo it I believe. He's shooting for high 8s/low 9s
