Like I said if you have been seeing 99^ cars being beat by 3800 Fbods, the Stang drivers need to find a new hobby.
Anything can happen on the streets, a low 14 second car vs a medium 14 second car is a drivers race on the streets IMO. I drive an LT1 Fbody so I have no trouble with mustangs but I know 2 diffrent people who have 3.8's and I have personally seen them pull 99-04 stock GT's.

First off....you said 'easily beat on teh street or the track'...maybe you can't read yourself. SECONDly.....personally seeing two cars beat a couple of stock GTs means NOTHING. It is not the end all to new edge vs. V6 fbody.

And please explain this: "I drive an LT1 Fbody so I have no trouble with mustangs." If you really think an LT1 is enough to 'handle mustangs' there must not be alot of them in your area.

Put it this way, stock for stock they are not a match, a 99^ GT will pull a 3.8. HOWEVER...a stick 3.8 can hang with a auto GT from a stop for a LITTLE bit. The GT then whomps after second gear. That's about as close as they get stock.

A geared M5 3.8 will hold off an auto 99 GT.

They are not close unless the GT is auto and the 3.8 is manual with good gears. The GT will still pull on the top end.

I know, from experience with a good 3.8 driver.

Ive raced tons of mustangs and have yet to lose to one. All I have is intake and exaust to. All I would have to do is spray and I could probly beat any car you have ever owned.

Is this guy for real?........SO, if you can 'probly' (nice ghetto word there) beat anything I have ever owned, you must be running a 150 shot in that LT1 AT THE MINIMUM. Cause that is what it will take to run low 12s, high 11s........and on a stock LT1....that is just plain DUMB.

Why don't you go back to 14 second land ( mustang forums ) where you belong noob. Once I get my Heads and Cams installed I will beat any mustang in florida ( not including 03/04 cobras ) if I spray.

You need to calm down man...No offense, but ponys mach1 (bone stock-before he added the "whistling intake" ) would have DUSTED your LT1 as it sits.

One of the great things about LS1tech is the sheer amount of users...and many of those users own cars NOT made my GM....and those users are welcome hear at all times to share their knowledge of cars also...

We don't need someone here who has been a member for two minutes and 0 posts running their mouths and making asses of the rest of us.

THank you for displaying more of your ignorance. Fact is, my car has about the same power as a lightly bolt on Terminator. Cobra's have 8 psi stock, and a CAI/midpipe/catback/Tune cobra is roughly ~430RWHP........and guess what?......I only have a Catback and am running 7 psi. Don't talk about what you know nothing about.

And I love the RICER "once I get my H/C setup".....I needed a laugh today. And if you think an LT1 with a H/C is going to beat ANY mustang in the nice state of FL...you haven't come across many. Cause I know plenty of Machs that will hand you your ***, even after your setup.

My car is getting the H/C and 100 shot installed on it as I type this, I will pull bus lenghts on any Gt in florida and im willing to put money on it. If you live in florida and own a mustang Gt that wants some give me a PM and we will get a race going. Remember noobs, 5.7 > 4.6. And trust me I go to the track a lot and I see bolt own 3.8 fbodys easily pulling bolt on Gt's. They are both around the same performance stock. The 3.8 comes with like 250hp and the mustangs come from 260-300. So if your pathetic little fords can't beat a 3.8 V6 how are they going to beat my modded LT1?

Default Dude

The 6 cyl camaro makes approx 205 hp since like 1995.....and im not even sure if that is at the rear wheels or not. I'm not too fond of stangs either, just not my cup of tea, but I will not lie on them. A GT wouldn't have any problem beating a 6 cyl camaro.....please lock the thread before this gets crazy!!!!!

Zactly. Hell, my BONE STOCK 25th Anniversary T/A A4 ran a best of 14.1, so you are saying the V6 3.8L is faster than an LT1? Please.

The Ford bashing is all fun and games, but don't be retarded Publix.

Oh, and in befo' da .

250? LMMFAO. Try 200. Thats what it was rated. The RS Camaro package they made in '02 made a whopping 205. That was the highest rated F-Body V6 from the factory. Do some research before blubbering your cheese-curdled, urine-tract infected, stuffed with molasses and Ms. Buttersworth saturated vagina. KTHKSBYE.

Well, I will speak from my experience and thats it.

First of all publix, you need to calm down.
I go to the NY-IRP once and awhile in the summer months, and a 99-04 GT running a high 13 is not likely, even with a bolt on or two.

It happens, but even if you talk to people at svtperformance.com, 13.7 is the best they have seen. Which is a great run btw.

Mid to low 14's are the norm for 99-04 GT's.
LT1's that ive seen are slightly faster.
There a local guy in a 96 SS m6 running low 13s with just headers.
No GT is going to do that, even the 05+ model GT's.
But LT1's have 20 more stock HP, and 30 more stock TQ then the 2V.
Some stock LT1 M6's have hit 13.4's and 13.5's... NO 2V GT will do that... Period.

And the argument about the 3.8 Vs A GT is dumb.
A 5 Speed 3800 will give the 4.6 Auto a run for about 2 seconds, but the 3.8 will lose. End of discussion.
I have drove a 2V GT 5 Speed and there not as slow as everyone thinks.

This thread has been beaten to death, let it die.

Yea well my LT1 will beat any mustang GT in florida so who cares. Anyways, a V6 3.8 camaro goes for about $2000. You can buy one and put like 2 bolt ons and easily beat any stock mustang GT. GM just makes better performance cars im sorry, and its not like fords are horrible. They are 100000 times better than jap trash ricer cars.....just not better than GM.
