About a week ago I heard about this 16 year old kid that has a RX-7 TT with some mods. I think I heard he has different turbo intercooler and maybe some other work. I passed him today and he gave me a look like I was nothing which reall reall pissid me off. I have a 2000 Camaro SS M6 with slp tuned long tube headers, slp loud mouth, free cold air, free egr, 4.10 gears, and a short throw shifter. The best so far a the track was a 12.8 at 110mph with a shitty 60ft of 2.1. I think I can get a 12.5 with a better start. So do you guys think I can beat him, and what do you think my next mod should be?

 

oh yeah, it is a newer RX-7 like the one in fast and the furious.

 

You should be able to beat him. As long as he doesn't have a boost controller or any computer tuning you should be ok. My friend has a 93 RX7 (3rd gen same as fast and furious). He ran a 14.0 dead stock with a brand new rebuilt engine and turbos. He now has a y-pipe (one cat removed), HKS catback, and a two cone intake. We raced alot, I usually beat him by 2-3 carlengths when my car was totally stock (01 Z28 M6). Those cars just suck off the line till the turbos spool up. You don't wanna race the kid from a roll because you can kill him off the launch.

 

Like they said, it all depends on what he has done. I say get some nittos and you should be fine. They will decrease that 60ft time to 1.8 or better.
