and then finds out its not an average Fbody!

I dont have alot of time to type one of my good stories but this happend on last friday night on the way to visit my folks. I had about an hour drive ahead of me to get from the Snohomish area to Snoqualmie where my folks live. Well I decided to take the SS out for the nice leisurly drive. as soon as I hit the free way some StUNa in a mazda 4 door tries to get me to run. I just wave him off and continue along the way. Considering the condition of the drive train, I wasnt going to nuke anything for him. About 10 seconds later he pulls the infamous fly by and give me the hazards. I just chuckle to myself and let him go to tell his friends how he smoked a LS1 SS. About 10 minutes later I come into the Kirkland area. And I notice a silver E36 M3 FLYING up the on ramp. As soon as he hit the freeway he slowed down and came right next to me. He would stomp on it and take off then slow down. when he went by the first time I noticed the DINAN tag on the back and you could definatly hear the faint sound of boost from under the hood. I also notice through his tinted windows that he has a full car. Giving me some advantage on him. I could also almost hear him inside the car telling his friends "watch me smoke this Camaro".
So here I sit in a 420RWHP car that is set up for top speed runs against a supercharged M3. I guess he somewhere in the neighborhood of 350-375RWHP boost dependant. the other issue is my clutch, trans and rear end are still fooked. So I think for a second while this guy is trying to get me to run. Whats the worst that could happen? Well, the clutch could go the first time I drop the hammer in 3rd at 70mph, the trans will refuse to shift because of a bent shift fork and last but not least the rear end is now officially at the point of grenading after the sprint with Saleen not to long ago. I figured if something breaks I will be forced into repairing it instead of saying "oh, I can get to it later".

So I slip the car into 3rd and hold the RPMs at just about 3500 (uh oh sweet spot) and wait for the Beemer to make a jump. It was already the beginning of the end for this guy. Right as he hammers it he gets about a car on me. Thats when I absolutly CRUSH the throttle and PRAY everything holds together. As soon as I hit it the low traction light is blinking at me. I relled this guy in so fast it wasnt even funny. I go to throw it into 4th and had to fight to get it in gear and hammer it again, by the time I hit 4th I already had well over 4 or 5 car lengths on him in a matter of seconds. I lift of the throttle at about 135mph and let him catch back up to me. I give him the thumbs up and he starts gunning it again....the guy wants more of what he just got! So I ablige (sp) him. The process repeats itself 2 more times. But on the 3rd time when I went to shift into 4th the clutch stayed on the floor! OK thats it, no more fun time. I had to fight for all I was worth to get the thing into gear and slow down.

Well the beemer takes an exit and honks at me a couple times and the passengers are throwing thumbs up out the window at me so I waved back at them. I end up limping the car to my folks place and letting everything cool off. the car made the trip back home but only under freeway speeds. Fun run, but repairs can NO LONGER BE AVOIDED.
